Performance: the GT 8 Pro is the higher-tier choice
realme lists the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in the GT 8 Pro and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the 16 Pro+. The GT 8 Pro also lists UFS 4.1 storage. Those specifications put the GT 8 Pro ahead on paper for demanding games and intensive workloads; they are not independent benchmark results and do not establish how either phone performs over a long session or manages heat.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Realme GT 8 Pro
- Magnetic ring design supports magnetic car mounts and is compatible with MagSafe accessories.
- Premium-style high-quality synthetic leather offers a more comfortable feel. TPU + rigid PC construction: enhances durability and improves grip. Soft TPU bumpers facilitate easy installation and removal.
- Raised edges for added camera and screen protection.
- Precise charging cutouts fit volume buttons, side buttons, and device curves for easy access to all buttons, controls, and ports without removing the case.
Choose the GT 8 Pro if flagship-class processing capability is a priority. The 16 Pro+ is the less expensive option, but buyers should not treat the processor names alone as a substitute for workload-specific performance testing.
Display: higher stated resolution on the GT 8 Pro
realme describes the GT 8 Pro display as 2K with a 144Hz refresh rate. The 16 Pro+ specification page lists a 1280 × 2800 FHD+ AMOLED panel with refresh rates up to 144Hz. Both therefore advertise high refresh rates, but the GT 8 Pro has the higher stated resolution. Their screen sizes are close, so resolution and panel characteristics are more useful distinctions than the small diagonal difference.

Do not compare brightness claims as if they came from a shared test: manufacturer-defined peak figures may use different methods, and the cited material does not provide a matched measurement.

1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsCameras: different roles for the 200MP camera
The key distinction is where each phone places its 200MP camera. On the GT 8 Pro, realme highlights a 200MP telephoto camera, a 50MP ultra-wide and a RICOH GR camera collaboration. The 16 Pro+ specification listing instead gives it a 200MP main camera, alongside a 50MP telephoto and an 8MP ultra-wide.

- Compatible with Realme GT 8 Pro
- 【2 in 1】PU Leather + Silicone soft edges double protection, can be better prevented from receiving external damage
- 【Camera protection】Protecting Screen and Camera,Screen and Camera Raised edges protect againstscratches and minor drops
- 【Precise Cut】The buttons are accurate, responsive and easy to press
- 【Shockproof】Anti-seismic Anti-drop Protection extends to inside of the caseand outer bumperboth of which provideshoch-absorption
That makes the camera arrays different in emphasis, not a simple megapixel contest: one phone’s headline 200MP sensor is telephoto, the other’s is the main camera. Sensor resolution alone cannot establish detail, colour, low-light results or overall image quality. The cited specifications do not provide controlled independent photo comparisons, so they do not support declaring an image-quality winner.

realme lists a typical 7000mAh battery for both phones. It specifies 120W wired and 50W wireless charging for the GT 8 Pro, compared with up to 80W wired charging for the 16 Pro+. The capacity figures do not prove equal battery life, and the charging ratings do not establish real-world charge times; no matched battery or charging test is provided here.
Which realme phone should you choose?
- Choose the realme GT 8 Pro if its higher-tier listed processor, 2K display or 50W wireless charging are the priorities and the price premium fits your budget.
- Choose the realme 16 Pro+ 5G if you want a lower listed price, a 200MP main camera and the same stated typical battery capacity, and do not need the GT 8 Pro’s listed performance tier or wireless charging.
- Compare the camera roles before deciding: the GT 8 Pro emphasizes a 200MP telephoto; the 16 Pro+ lists a 200MP main camera. Neither resolution figure alone predicts which phone will take better photos.
