The realme 16 Pro 5G lists a faster-refreshing display, a higher-resolution main camera and faster charging; vivo’s T5 5G lists a newer Dimensity 7500 processor, a slightly larger battery and explicit IP68/IP69 protection claims. Neither is an automatic winner, and the available prices are for different memory configurations, so they do not establish a fair price gap.

Which phone has the better display?
Both use AMOLED panels. realme lists a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, compared with 120Hz for the vivo T5 5G. A higher refresh rate can make supported motion appear smoother, but it does not by itself establish overall display quality or battery life. The listed sizes and resolutions also use different units and formats: realme gives a 17.22cm diagonal and 1272 × 2772 resolution; vivo lists 6.83 inches and 2800 × 1260.

Main and ultra-wide cameras
realme specifies a 200MP main camera with two-axis optical image stabilisation (OIS), autofocus and an f/1.8 aperture, alongside an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 112° field of view. vivo specifies a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide. The sensor resolution alone cannot show which phone produces better photos: image processing, lighting and shooting conditions matter, and the published specifications do not include a controlled comparison.

Selfies and video
The realme front camera is listed at 50MP, while vivo lists a 32MP front camera. realme specifies rear-camera 4K recording at 30fps; vivo advertises 4K video recording on both front and rear cameras. These specifications do not establish that the phones offer identical frame rates or video features.
Battery capacity and charging
vivo lists a 7050mAh battery. realme gives two capacity figures: 7000mAh typical and 6830mAh rated. Those figures are not directly interchangeable, and capacity ratings do not predict how long either phone will last in everyday use.

Performance, protection and everyday details
Processor
realme names the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max 5G; vivo names the Dimensity 7500. The processor names alone do not settle which phone is faster in real applications. No controlled side-by-side performance or thermal test is established here. vivo also promotes “up to 233% Faster On-Device AI,” but that is vivo’s marketing claim with a comparison context, not an independently verified general speed result.

Durability and connectivity
vivo advertises IP68 and IP69 dust- and water-resistance ratings and military-grade durability. These are manufacturer claims, not a comparative durability test. The cited realme specifications do not establish an equivalent protection rating, so check the official claim for the exact variant before treating the phones as directly comparable on protection.
The vivo store listing specifies Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB 2.0 Type-C. realme’s cited specification page lists no memory-card expansion and no eSIM. Confirm any connectivity or expansion requirement against the exact model and regional variant before buying.

Price difference: why the available figures are not like-for-like
A realme Community India post dated January 6, 2026, reported a launch-period price of ₹31,999 for the 8GB+128GB realme 16 Pro 5G and mentioned a ₹3,000 bank offer. That is a dated report, not a verified current price. The vivo Official E-Store listing displayed ₹34,999 for the 6GB+128GB Royal Bronze T5 5G; that listing price can change and refers to a different RAM configuration. realme Community India price post · vivo Official E-Store listing.

Because the configurations differ and one figure is a dated launch report, subtracting these amounts would not give a reliable current price difference. For a fair comparison, check both sellers on the day you buy and match RAM and storage. Treat bank discounts, exchange offers and color-dependent pricing separately rather than assuming they apply equally.
