The realme 16 Pro+ 5G lists a larger, faster-refresh display, higher-resolution main and telephoto cameras, a larger stated battery and faster wired charging. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 FE has a documented seven-generation OS-upgrade and seven-year security-update commitment in India. Samsung launch prices are available for the US and India, but the official realme pages reviewed do not establish a current price for either market, so a reliable same-market price difference cannot be calculated.
This is a comparison of published specifications, not independent camera, battery or performance testing. Regional versions also differ, so check the exact model and storage configuration before buying.

How the screens compare
The realme’s listed screen is 0.1 inch larger diagonally and has a 144Hz maximum refresh rate, compared with Samsung’s 120Hz maximum. Samsung India lists 1,900 nits for the Galaxy S26 FE. That is a manufacturer specification; it does not establish how the displays compare in measured brightness or outdoor visibility. The published figures alone do not show which screen looks better in use.

Camera hardware and features
On paper, realme specifies more megapixels for its main and telephoto cameras: 200MP and 50MP, respectively, versus Samsung’s 50MP main and 8MP telephoto. Samsung specifies 3× optical zoom for its telephoto camera and a 12MP ultrawide, while realme lists an 8MP ultrawide. The realme Europe specification page also lists OIS on its main and telephoto cameras; Samsung India lists OIS on its main and telephoto cameras.
These are hardware descriptions, not a photo-quality ranking. Megapixel counts do not establish detail, color, low-light performance or consistency, and no matched independent camera test is available in the cited material. Samsung’s launch announcement names features including My FanCam, Super Steady with Horizontal Lock, Nightography and Photo Assist; these are Samsung’s described features, not independently assessed results. See the Samsung India announcement for its feature descriptions.

Software support and Galaxy AI
Samsung India states that the Galaxy S26 FE will receive seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from global launch. Samsung also documents Galaxy AI features in its launch materials. The reviewed realme specifications identify realme UI 7.0 but do not state a comparable support duration; that omission is not evidence of a particular realme update policy.
Price difference: what the published prices show
The available Samsung prices are market-specific launch prices, not confirmed current street prices. The official realme India and Europe specification pages reviewed list configurations but no price, so they do not support a like-for-like price difference.

| Market | Galaxy S26 FE price information | realme 16 Pro+ price information |
|---|---|---|
| United States | Starts at $699.99 at launch; 128GB and 256GB options. Samsung announced availability from September 3, 2026, at select carriers, and from September 4 through Samsung.com, carriers and retailers. | A comparable current price is not established by the reviewed official sources. |
| India | INR 79,999 launch price for 8GB/256GB. Samsung also listed conditional exchange, EMI and bank offers; the listed offers are mutually exclusive. | A comparable current price is not established by the reviewed official sources. |
Samsung’s US launch price and availability are from its US launch announcement; the India price and offers are from its India launch announcement. These are launch figures and can differ from current offers. Do not compare the US dollar price with the India rupee price, or compare different storage tiers as if they were equivalent. For a meaningful price comparison, check both phones’ current prices in your country at the same time and match storage and memory configurations.
Regional versions: check before you buy
realme’s India and Europe listings differ in details including storage configurations, connectivity and the rated battery capacity. The India specifications say eSIM and NFC are unsupported; the Europe specifications list eSIM support and NFC, with regional caveats. Samsung’s storage options, offers and availability likewise vary by market.
- Match the exact model code and storage configuration to your country.
- Check cellular bands and carrier compatibility, especially if buying an imported model.
- Confirm whether you need eSIM or NFC and that the specific variant supports them.
- Check local warranty coverage and what is included in the box.
- Verify charger compatibility and inclusion rather than assuming the maximum charging rate is available with any adapter.
For regional realme details, compare the India specifications with the Europe specifications.
Which one fits your priorities?
- Consider the realme 16 Pro+ if its larger 144Hz display, listed camera resolutions, 7,000mAh typical battery or 80W wired charging better match your priorities—and the local variant meets your connectivity and warranty needs.
- Consider the Galaxy S26 FE if Samsung’s documented update commitment, Galaxy AI feature set, or its stated 3× optical telephoto zoom is more important to you.
Neither specification sheet establishes which phone is faster in everyday use, lasts longer on a charge or takes better photos. Those questions require matched independent testing. Decide on hardware and software priorities first, then compare current local prices for equivalent configurations.
