What the spec sheet does—and does not—say about performance
The Dimensity 9500s in the POCO is a higher-tier chipset on paper than the Dimensity 6400 Turbo listed for the realme 16 5G. That is a component comparison, not proof of a particular difference in gaming, everyday responsiveness or heat. The available figures do not include controlled benchmark results or hands-on testing, so choose based on verified local configuration and independent testing if performance is decisive.

India
Smartprix’s prices, last updated September 30, 2026, show a lowest listed price of ₹35,499 for the realme 16 5G and ₹48,999 for the POCO X8 Pro Max. That dated listing produces a ₹13,500 difference; it is not a guaranteed current retail gap.
UK and US launch-era context
TechRadar reported on April 3, 2026 that the POCO started at $469 / £469, with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage in the base model at the time. This is launch-era context, not a current price. Compare like-for-like storage and local offers before buying rather than relying on a price quoted for another market.

Release dates are not consistent across the listings
The Brazil comparison page lists January 29, 2026 as the realme 16 5G launch date, while Smartprix reports April 2, 2026. Those dates may reflect regional release timing, but the listings do not resolve the difference. Both sources list March 17, 2026 for the POCO X8 Pro Max.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhich phone fits which priority?
- Consider the POCO X8 Pro Max if you want the larger, sharper display, the listed higher-tier chipset, 12 GB RAM on Xiaomi UK’s configuration, or its 8,500 mAh typical battery and fast wired charging.
- Consider the realme 16 5G if the smaller and lighter dimensions reported by Oficina da Net matter more, or if its price in your market is lower for the storage configuration you need.
- Check local details before choosing if camera quality, battery endurance, software updates, warranty, network bands or charger-in-box contents are decisive. The listed specifications alone do not establish real-world camera results, battery life, update support or identical regional configurations.
Sources and regional caveats
- Xiaomi UK POCO X8 Pro Max specifications for the POCO hardware figures and UK box-content note.
- Oficina da Net comparison for Brazil prices, Realme dimensions and weight, and its display, battery and chipset listings.
- Smartprix comparison for India prices, its Realme weight and battery listing, and reported release date.
- TechRadar’s April 3, 2026 review for launch-era UK/US starting-price context.
The Realme battery figures conflict between the two comparison listings, and an official Realme specification page for this model is not established by these sources. Verify the exact regional model, battery specification, warranty and service terms, and current retailer price with the manufacturer or seller in your country. Xiaomi’s cited POCO specifications are for the UK; they do not establish every region’s network bands, bundled charger or retail configuration.
