What HWMonitor does
HWMonitor reads and displays data exposed by supported sensors in a PC. CPUID lists voltage, temperature, power, current, fan-speed, utilization, and clock-speed readings. The utility monitors; the product descriptions do not establish that it controls fans or repairs or diagnoses failing hardware.

CPUID names several hardware areas it can monitor: CPUs and GPUs, motherboard monitoring chips, memory modules with thermal sensors, SMART data from SSDs and hard disks, and batteries. What appears in the interface depends on the hardware and the readings its sensors make available; a listed category does not mean every device will expose every metric. What the current listed version adds
As of September 14, 2026, CPUID lists HWMonitor 1.68 for Windows x86/x64. Its release notes describe expanded GPU, AMD platform, storage, and interface reporting; these additions are version-specific, and sensor availability still depends on the PC.

These details come from CPUID’s version history. The same history lists version 1.67, dated July 31, 2026, with additional power-supply, AIO, GPU, and clock support, and version 1.66, dated July 22, 2026, with improved AMD Radeon RX 9000 hotspot reporting and a transparent graph window. Because the version history changes, check the current listing when choosing a download.
Standard HWMonitor or PRO?
Standard HWMonitor covers sensor monitoring. CPUID’s indexed description of PRO lists remote monitoring, sensor tray icons, and advanced logging with graph generation as additional reasons to choose that edition.

Choose the Windows edition that matches your PC
CPUID lists the main HWMonitor download for Windows x86/x64 and links to a separate Windows ARM64 edition. If your device uses an ARM processor, check CPUID’s current download listing and compatibility information before installing; the ARM64 page’s details could not be verified. What to know about a past download-link incident
A 2026 report said CPUID maintainers described a download-link compromise lasting about six hours on April 9–10, 2026. The report named HWMonitor 1.63 among affected link versions and said the maintainers reported that the incident was fixed and signed original files were not compromised.
