Razer Tartarus V2 Pro vs. Logitech G13: Which Gaming Keypad Is Right for You?

The Razer Tartarus V2 Pro is the stronger fit if you want its published analog optical switches, adjustable actuation, Rapid Trigger, and configurable wrist-rest position. The Logitech G13 remains distinctive for its 22 G-keys, mini-joystick, and monochrome LCD. Neither is a universal winner: the right choice depends on which controls you need and, especially for the G13, whether you can verify a dependable unit and compatible software.

At a glance: what separates the Tartarus V2 Pro and G13?

Feature Razer Tartarus V2 Pro Logitech G13
Programmable controls 31, according to Razer’s 2026 product page 22 G-keys and 3 M-keys, according to Logitech’s specification page (publication year not stated; accessed 2026)
Key technology Second-generation analog optical switches; adjustable actuation from 0.1–4.0 mm; Rapid Trigger, per Razer Comparable adjustable-actuation features are not described in Logitech’s published specifications
Thumb control Full-sized TMR thumbstick with three dedicated buttons, per Razer Mini-joystick, per Logitech
Display Not stated on the cited Razer product page Monochrome LCD, per Logitech
Wrist rest and tilt Multi-directional wrist-rest adjustment; 15°–20° tilt range, per Razer Logitech specifies a non-adjustable LCD tilt; an equivalent wrist-rest specification is not stated
Software and support Latest Razer Synapse required for customization; configurable keymaps and onboard profiles, per Razer Logitech’s page records GamePanel software and release-era OS support; it currently lists no downloads or spare parts
Availability Razer says the product is available through Razer.com, RazerStores, and authorized retailers; check local stock Current retail availability is not established by Logitech’s support page

The specifications above come from Razer’s Tartarus V2 Pro product page and Logitech’s G13 technical specifications. They describe manufacturer-published features, not independent comparative testing.

How many controls do you need?

Tartarus V2 Pro: 31 programmable controls

Razer lists 31 programmable controls, along with configurable keymaps and onboard profiles. That makes the layout worth considering if you want to assign many game commands or keep control sets for different uses. The number alone does not establish that the keypad will feel faster or easier to use; that depends on your bindings and how well the layout suits your hand.

G13: 22 G-keys, 3 M-keys, and a familiar layout

Logitech lists 22 G-keys and three M-keys. For someone who already knows the G13’s layout, that arrangement may matter more than a newer feature set: switching devices can mean rebuilding bindings and relearning where commands sit. If you are buying a used G13, confirm that the keys and joystick work as expected before relying on it for a game or workflow.

Do adjustable actuation and Rapid Trigger matter?

Razer specifies second-generation analog optical switches, Rapid Trigger, and an adjustable actuation range of 0.1–4.0 mm. These features let a user configure how far a key travels before registering and how it resets, according to Razer’s published description. The cited Logitech specifications do not describe equivalent adjustable-actuation controls. That is a difference in documented features, not proof of a measured speed or latency advantage.

Razer also stated an 8,000 Hz polling rate in its September 17, 2026 announcement. That is the manufacturer’s specification, not an independently measured result. Consider it only if that number is relevant to your setup; it does not, by itself, establish a practical advantage in your games.

  • Pro Software for Even Deeper Customization - Record your own macro sequences and design custom lighting effects, so the keypad adapts to your exact keybinds.

Which thumb control and display suit your games?

Choose based on the way you use the thumb control

Razer describes a full-sized TMR thumbstick with three dedicated buttons. Logitech specifies a mini-joystick. Both give the thumb an input beyond the main keys, but the cited specifications do not establish which control is better in practice. Consider the actions you would bind to it—such as movement, menus, or secondary commands—and whether you value the G13’s particular joystick placement and familiar feel.

The G13’s monochrome LCD is a distinctive feature

The G13 includes a monochrome LCD. If you use or value that display as part of your setup, it is a reason to consider keeping or sourcing a G13 rather than assuming a newer keypad is a direct substitute. Razer’s cited product page does not state an equivalent display feature.

Will the fit and wrist position work for you?

Razer describes a wrist rest that adjusts in multiple directions and a 15°–20° tilt range. Logitech’s specification page says the G13’s LCD has a non-adjustable tilt, but does not provide an equivalent wrist-rest comparison. Those specifications can help you compare adjustment options; they cannot establish which keypad is more comfortable. If fit is decisive, try the device in your usual position before committing where possible.

What should you check about software and support?

Tartarus V2 Pro: customization uses Razer Synapse

Razer says customization requires the latest Razer Synapse and describes configurable keymaps and onboard profiles. Before choosing it, verify that Synapse supports your current operating system and that its setup suits the way you want to manage profiles.

G13: do not treat its release-era OS list as current compatibility

Logitech’s specifications record GamePanel software versions and operating-system support at release: Windows XP and Vista, and Mac OS X 10.4–10.5. Those historical entries do not establish compatibility with a present-day computer. Logitech’s support page currently lists no downloads or spare parts, so check the exact software and OS requirements for your intended setup before buying or relying on a G13. The page does not give a discontinuation date or prove that units cannot be found for sale.
