Its compact layout can free space for mouse movement and make the board easier to carry, but it omits dedicated function and navigation keys and a number pad.
What’s new in the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini 8KHz?
The new model is the latest addition to Razer’s Huntsman V3 Pro lineup. It combines Razer Analog Optical Switches Gen-2 with an adjustable 0.1–4.0 mm actuation range, Rapid Trigger and the company’s 8000 Hz HyperPolling. Its listed Advanced Input Control features are Snap Flex, Snap Tap, Dynamic Keystroke and Dual-Keypress Priority.

What does 8000 Hz polling mean?
Polling rate is how often a keyboard reports input to a computer. Razer describes 1000 Hz as allowing up to 1,000 reports per second, with a 1 ms interval; at 8000 Hz, the corresponding figures are up to 8,000 reports per second and a 0.125 ms interval. A higher polling rate shortens the interval between reports, but it is not the same as a guarantee that every part of a game or computer will respond within that time.

- RAPID TRIGGER — A step up from traditional mechanical or optical keyboards to achieve the most responsive and precise inputs; reset keys at the slightest lift of a finger, and experience an advantage in speed that is especially useful for movement in competitive FPS games
- ANALOG OPTICAL SWITCHES GEN-2 — Max out on precision and response with advanced switches for ultra fast repeated inputs, a 0.1–4.0 mm adjustable actuation range, and a 100 million keystroke lifespan
- QUICK ONBOARD ADJUSTMENTS — Make precise, on-the-fly adjustments to actuation height or Rapid Trigger sensitivity with the visual aid of an onboard LED array while saving the settings to the keyboard with no software required
What Razer’s latency figures do—and do not—show
Razer reports an average latency of 0.48 ms for the Mini 8KHz, measured from switch actuation until the signal reached the host USB port. The company says this came from its internal testing in September 2026. In the same comparison, Razer reported 0.65 ms for the nearest competing keyboard it tested, with the keyboards set to 0.1 mm actuation and their maximum polling rates.
Those figures describe Razer’s test method and results, not independently verified or end-to-end latency. Razer cautions that end-to-end latency can vary with the setup and devices. Its October announcement also claimed approximately 2.5 times better actuation-point precision than the tested competitors; Razer says it took 20 measurements per keyboard at 0.1 mm actuation and 8000 Hz, measuring the same key across devices. No independent test of this specific keyboard is established here, so these comparisons should be read as manufacturer claims rather than predictions of a player’s results.

What you give up with a 60% layout
The 60% format removes the dedicated function row, navigation cluster and numpad. That leaves a smaller footprint that can create more room for a mouse, which may be useful to players who make wide swipes at low sensitivity, and is easier to transport between setups. The trade-off is that users who rely on those dedicated keys must use alternate key combinations or adapt their workflow.

Razer says modifier keys can also serve as four-way arrow keys when tapped. The dual-purpose design preserves arrow-key access without a separate arrow-key cluster, though it is different from having dedicated arrows.

- DUAL-PURPOSE MODIFIER KEYS — The bottom-right modifier keys on the keyboard double up as arrow keys when tapped, providing convenient navigation that's usually only on larger keyboards
- TEXTURED DOUBLESHOT PBT KEYCAPS — More durable than regular keycaps and made to withstand intense competitive play, complete with side-printed secondary functions for easy visual reference
- BRUSHED ALUMINUM TOP PLATE — Crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum and refined with a smooth brushed metal finish, the keyboard’s robust casing is built to withstand frequent, intense use and is resistant to warping
Adjustments, profiles and polling setup
Razer says users can adjust actuation and Rapid Trigger sensitivity directly on the keyboard, save up to six profiles onboard and use Synapse Web for compatible settings in a browser. The company’s product FAQ says to select 8000 Hz in Razer Synapse to activate that polling rate; polling rate can be adjusted there. These are manufacturer-described configuration options, not independently tested workflows.
