How does RAW work?

- Browse the dating feed. The 2023 Grit Daily feature describes swiping through profiles that include users’ daily photo updates.
- Start conversations, subject to chat limits. RAW says users may be restricted from starting new conversations while earlier chats remain unanswered.
- Use the available controls when needed. The sources describe unmatching, reporting, and blocking as options.
The sources explain the intended workflow but do not establish every current screen, setting, or version-specific detail. Features and labels may change if the app is available in a particular store.

Does RAW prevent fake profiles, scams, or ghosting?
No independent evidence in the available sources demonstrates that RAW eliminates fake accounts, scams, or catfishing, or that it improves match quality. A live photo prompt may make older, carefully selected profile pictures less central, but it does not independently verify a user’s identity. Likewise, limiting new chats while conversations go unanswered is intended to discourage ghosting; it cannot ensure that every conversation receives a reply or explain why someone stopped responding.
In the June 2023 Grit Daily feature, co-founder Marina Anderson made promotional claims that RAW matches are real and that scams and impersonation would be over. The feature does not provide independent fraud data or an audit supporting those assurances. Treat claims such as “100% real people” as marketing, not a verified safety guarantee. The sources also provide no independent moderation metrics, safety evaluation, or controlled comparison with other dating apps.

Is RAW still available, and is RAW Moments the same app?
Current availability is uncertain and may differ by country or device. An indexed New Zealand App Store listing describes the dating app for iPhone, while AppBrain reports that the older iOS app was removed on April 18, 2026. Those records do not establish whether the dating app can currently be downloaded everywhere, or whether it remains available on another platform. Check the official store for your region and device before relying on an old listing.
