Rain is in the forecast for Saturday, October 3, across Dallas–Fort Worth, with scattered showers and storms and highs in the upper 70s, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Fort Worth/Dallas office. Rain timing and chances differ by location, so check the point forecast for your part of the metroplex before heading out.
Will it rain in Dallas–Fort Worth on Saturday?
Yes. The NWS office forecast additional rain chances tonight and Saturday, with scattered showers and storms. Its area summary, last updated Friday, October 2, at 8:08 p.m. CDT, said showers and storms were weakening as a cold front pushed east. Most counties were on track for about another inch of rain, with localized heavier rainfall possible. That was a forecast, not a final rainfall total. NWS Fort Worth/Dallas office forecast

How cool will Saturday feel?
The NWS area summary forecast highs in the upper 70s. The point forecasts put Irving near 77°F and Fort Worth near 76°F. Those are location-specific forecast highs, not a guarantee for every neighborhood. Compared with a hot summer day, the temperatures should feel cooler, though showers and storms may make outdoor plans less comfortable.
What was the early-morning airport reading?
The NWS DFW International Airport page was updated at 2:46 a.m. CDT Saturday and reported overcast skies and 69°F at 3:53 a.m. CDT. That is a time-stamped observation, not a description of conditions for the rest of Saturday. NWS DFW Airport point forecast

Is flooding a concern?
The NWS office noted a possibility of isolated flash flooding in Central Texas, especially in places that had already received 3–4 or more inches of rain during the preceding two days. This is geographically qualified context, not evidence of a flash-flood warning for all of Dallas–Fort Worth.
- Check current NWS alerts and local conditions before traveling.
- Allow for wet roads and changing conditions during showers and storms.
- Never drive through floodwater.
A compact umbrella may be useful if you need to be outdoors, but rain gear does not make floodwater or severe weather safe.

The NWS office expected rain to linger into Sunday morning before ending, followed by sunnier, dry weather next week. The Irving point forecast listed a 25% precipitation chance Sunday, with showers possible, then partly sunny skies and a high near 83°F. This is a near-term forecast, not a claim that cooler conditions will continue through the season.
