To mine in Ragnarok X: Next Generation, open the Life Skills interface, choose the material you need, and follow the current location prompt to its mining spot. Check the vein and stamina cost in your own client before starting: older guides document early routes, but official updates have since raised the Mining cap to level 10 and added new content.

- Check the spot and action cost in your client before mining. Mining spots were added across all maps in the June 2026 EU/ME update, so an older guide’s early-game location should not be treated as a complete map of current spots.
The material selector is the practical starting point because it ties your goal to a location prompt. The cited guides do not establish a current, complete vein-to-material map.

Which pickaxe to use
Official EU/ME maintenance notes dated June 26, 2026 list the Tungsten Pickaxe and Advanced Tungsten Pickaxe in the Sundries Store’s Life Supplies screen. That availability is documented for the EU/ME update; players in other regions should check their own store and item screen. Read the official EU/ME update.
Older third-party guides mention ordinary and Advanced Pickaxes, as well as an Alloy Pickaxe for concentrated ore. Those names and uses are historical guide details, not confirmation that the same tools or node requirements apply in every current client. Check the tool description and the node requirement shown in your game.

Mining levels and when to change veins
The latest located official update, Al De Baran in March 2026, raises the Mining life-skill cap to level 10. An earlier official Glast Heim update in November 2025 introduced level 9 ore and veins and raised the cap to level 9. These updates establish the expansion history, but do not provide a current vein-by-vein progression or drop table. Al De Baran update · Glast Heim update.
A dated early-game route
A February 2024 community guide recommends mining level 1 ore veins until Mining level 4, then moving to level 4 veins. It reports that level 4 veins can yield level 1 and level 2 materials and additional materials such as rune-crafting materials. Choose a vein for the material you need
There is no supported current drop-rate comparison or universal “best” vein in the cited material. Pick based on what your character can access, whether the possible materials serve your immediate upgrade, refinement, enchantment, or crafting goal, the stamina cost shown in your client, and whether surplus materials can be converted into a useful tier. How mining materials fit into crafting and equipment
Mining is useful when its materials match a specific crafting or character-progression need. Before spending stamina, identify the item or material tier you are trying to obtain, then use the Life Skills material selector to find a relevant spot. The available guides discuss materials used across crafting and equipment-related loops, but do not establish a current universal recipe or a guaranteed vein yield; use your in-game recipe and item descriptions for the exact requirement.

Converting surplus materials
The 2024 community guide describes inventory actions called “synthesize” to turn lower-tier materials into a higher tier, and “dismantle” to turn higher-tier materials into a lower tier. It reports a three-to-one synthesis ratio, but that ratio is not confirmed by the cited current official updates. Inspect the current conversion interface and recipe before committing scarce materials.

A June 2021 GamingPH guide describes a concentrated-ore node at Mjolnir Dead Pit 1F and reports an Alloy Pickaxe, 300 stamina, a three-second interaction window, a 600-second respawn, and one example yielding 98 mining materials and 300 Mining EXP. These are figures from one old third-party account, not current game-wide values or guaranteed results. The guide’s sample market value is also from 2021 and should not be read as a present price.
