Cosmi: Forbidden Forest & Beyond is a ten-game collection of classic Cosmi Commodore 64 titles, not simply a remake of Forbidden Forest. It pairs the originals with a new medieval-styled remake of that game, plus digital comics and archival material. Steam currently lists it as “Coming soon”; a Nintendo Switch version has been reported in development for digital eShop release, but no release date or window has been announced.

The publisher identifies the original platform as Commodore 64 and Cosmi as the original developer. Its product page gives June 1, 1983 as an initial release date, but that is page-level information and should not be read as the release date for every game in the collection. The collection includes a medieval-styled remake of Forbidden Forest with new graphics and audio. Ziggurat says players can switch between the remade and original versions in real time, letting them compare the updated presentation with the classic game without leaving it.
