The name matters: RAC Standard Roadside Assistance is a different product offered by RAC WA.
What RACQ Everyday includes
RACQ positions Everyday for daily commuters who travel short distances. Its listed services include help with flat batteries, towing, emergency fuel, lockouts, tyre changes, EV charging and caravan or trailer assistance. RACQ says the plan can tow a vehicle up to 20 km if it cannot be restarted or repaired at the roadside.

That towing limit is not the same as the distance a patrol will travel to attend. RACQ’s comparison lists up to 50 km of patrol attendance for Everyday. Check the applicable terms for how distance is measured and what happens if your breakdown is outside the service area.

RACQ also lists Ultra Care, Ultimate Care and RACQ RV, but the overview figures supplied here do not establish their exact prices or limits. The higher tiers add longer attendance or towing limits and travel entitlements; compare the current tier details against the trips you actually make rather than assuming the Everyday limits apply across RACQ membership.
Who and what the cover applies to
RACQ’s terms summary describes eligible vehicles as registered, roadworthy and used privately, subject to size limits. The summary does not establish whether Everyday cover follows a nominated vehicle or a member personally, so confirm that detail in the terms for your chosen tier before relying on assistance in a different vehicle.

RACQ lists exclusions for Everyday that include personal cover, large vehicles, rental and commercial vehicles, vehicles for sale, unregistered vehicles, tractors or farm equipment, racing vehicles, and vehicles used as a residence. Terms may vary by tier and renewal, so check the current policy wording for your vehicle and use.

Waiting periods, exclusions and insurance limits
The RACQ terms search result gives an effective date of 2 July 2026 and says a 48-hour waiting period applies to relevant roadside services. The complete terms should be checked for the policy date and service involved.

A new customer seeking service immediately may be charged a one-time immediate-service surcharge, according to RACQ’s listed FAQ. Check the current joining terms to confirm whether it applies to you.
What happens if you break down interstate?
RACQ says members who break down interstate may receive basic roadside help through reciprocal benefits provided by the local motoring club, depending on location. That does not establish that the local club will provide all the entitlements of your ordinary RACQ tier. Confirm service availability and limits for the place you are travelling before setting out.

How to judge the service figures
RACQ reports a 35-minute average response time, more than 715,000 roadside jobs attended in the prior year, and that 91% of drivers were returned to the road. These are RACQ-published FY26-based figures, not independent measurements. The figures may help describe the provider’s reported service performance, but they do not guarantee a response time or outcome for an individual callout.

Is RACQ Everyday worth considering?
Everyday is the closest current RACQ tier to a basic “standard” roadside plan, and its stated 20 km towing limit may suit a driver whose usual trips are short and who wants common roadside help. It is a less obvious fit if your regular journeys require longer-distance towing, if your vehicle is outside the eligible classes, or if you need cover for personal travel rather than a vehicle. Compare the tier limits with your routes and read the current policy wording before treating the plan as a substitute for insurance or long-distance recovery.
