The developers offered qualitative assessments of the feature. Mike Fitzgerald, Head of Technology at Insomniac Games, said QSSR “adds more pixel-level clarity and stability” to environments in Marvel’s Wolverine. Jasmin Patry, Lead Rendering Engineer at Sucker Punch Productions, said QSSR resolves fine detail in characters and environments with temporal stability not previously possible on PS5. Sony says the QSSR library will be offered broadly to PlayStation developers. That describes intended developer access; it does not confirm adoption by any other studio, name additional games, or give a rollout timetable. For now, the announcement establishes only the two initial titles above.

Does QSSR improve graphics or frame rate?
Sony’s stated benefits are image detail and stability. The announcement does not report frame-rate increases, performance figures, or side-by-side testing, so it does not establish that QSSR raises frame rate. Nor does it quantify the visual change.
