QNT and XRP are not interchangeable tokens. QNT is associated with Quant’s Overledger interoperability platform, while XRP is the native token of the XRP Ledger (XRPL). The key difference is that QNT is used in connection with a platform’s subscriptions and services; XRP has functions within its own ledger, including facilitating transactions and bridging currencies in XRPL’s decentralized exchange.
What QNT, Quant and Overledger each refer to
Quant is the company, Overledger is its API-based interoperability platform, and QNT is the token associated with that platform. Quant describes Overledger as a way to connect traditional systems and blockchain networks, with use cases that include multi-chain transfers and smart-contract execution. Quant’s Overledger overview

Quant also describes tokenisation use cases such as digital currencies, cross-border and next-generation payments, capital-market assets, and supply-chain monitoring. These are product use cases Quant promotes; they should not be read as proof that every use case has been broadly deployed. Quant’s tokenisation overview

What XRP, Ripple and XRPL each refer to
Ripple is a technology company, XRPL is a decentralized ledger, and XRP is that ledger’s native token. Ripple says XRP facilitates XRPL transactions, helps protect the ledger from spam, and acts as a bridge currency in XRPL’s native decentralized exchange. Ripple’s XRP overview

XRPL also supports tokenisation, but that capability does not mean every tokenised asset on the ledger must use XRP. Ripple’s description of XRP’s role concerns the ledger’s transaction and exchange functions, not a universal requirement for all applications built on XRPL.
QNT vs. XRP at a glance
| Comparison | QNT / Quant | XRP / XRPL |
|---|---|---|
| What is the token associated with? | Quant’s Overledger interoperability platform and its subscriptions or transactions. | The XRP Ledger, where XRP is the native token. |
| Core role | Overledger connects systems and distributed-ledger networks through APIs. | XRP is used for XRPL transactions, spam protection and currency bridging in the native DEX. |
| Payment options or utility described | Quant says platform fees can be paid in USD or customers can subscribe with QNT. Older Quant material describes transaction utility and multi-DLT routing. | Ripple describes XRP as facilitating ledger transactions and functioning as a bridge asset in XRPL’s native DEX. |
| Supply information established here | Quant’s current FAQ does not provide a complete QNT supply or tokenomics schedule. | Ripple reports dated holdings, distribution and escrow categories as of 2026-06-30; these are not a live circulating-supply figure. |
How QNT is used to pay for Overledger
Quant’s current FAQ states: “You can pay your platform fee in USD, or you can subscribe with QNT.” Quant Network’s FAQ That means QNT is one way to pay for platform access, but the FAQ does not establish that every Overledger customer must use QNT.

Quant’s older technical article describes QNT powering Overledger transactions and notes fiat payment options for corporate customers. Treat that account as historical product material rather than a current protocol specification. Quant’s technical article on Overledger and QNT Neither the current FAQ nor that older article establishes that subscription payments create a guaranteed token sink, fixed demand, scarcity premium or investment return.

XRP’s role is closer to a ledger-level asset than QNT’s described role in Overledger subscriptions. According to Ripple, XRP facilitates XRPL transactions, helps prevent spam, and can bridge currencies when users exchange assets through XRPL’s native decentralized exchange. Ripple’s XRP overview

That distinction is about where the token’s stated function sits: QNT is associated with paying for Quant’s platform services, while XRP is native to the ledger whose transaction and exchange functions it supports. It does not, on its own, establish which token is more valuable or more likely to appreciate.

For QNT, Quant’s current FAQ and the technical material cited above do not supply a complete, current tokenomics schedule or a QNT supply figure. A direct supply comparison therefore cannot be made from those materials without adding unsupported numbers.
How Overledger relates to XRPL
Quant has historically announced Overledger interoperability with the XRP, Ethereum and Bitcoin mainnets. That release documents a capability at the time; it is not a current, comprehensive list of supported networks. Quant’s Overledger 2.0 release announcement

Quick Recap
Which comparison matters for your question?
- If you are comparing what the tokens do: QNT is associated with paying for Overledger services; XRP has stated transaction, anti-spam and currency-bridge functions within XRPL.
- If you are comparing the underlying technology: compare Overledger, an interoperability platform for connecting systems and networks, with XRPL, a decentralized ledger. The tokens are not substitutes for those products.
- If you are comparing supply disclosures: keep Ripple’s dated XRP holdings, distribution and escrow categories separate, and note that the Quant materials cited here do not provide a complete current QNT schedule.
- If you are assessing an investment: token utility descriptions alone do not establish future demand, token value or returns. They also do not settle regulatory treatment, which varies by jurisdiction and is outside this use-case comparison.
