PwC and Cohere announced a global alliance on October 5, 2026, with Canada as its first launch market. Cohere is to provide enterprise AI technology; PwC is to advise on use cases, risk and governance, and help integrate and implement solutions. The announcement describes planned work, not completed deployments or proven business results.
What the alliance is—and what “global” means
The companies say they will work together to help organizations adopt secure enterprise AI and connect AI investment to business priorities. The alliance is described as global, but the October 5 announcement identifies Canada as the first launch market. It does not say that the partnership is already operational in other countries or explain why Canada was chosen first. PwC’s announcement and Cohere’s announcement frame the work as a combination of enterprise AI products and consulting and implementation services.

What each company brings
| Partner | Role described in the announcement |
|---|---|
| Cohere | Its North agentic AI platform, enterprise models, and search and retrieval capabilities. |
| PwC | Help choosing use cases, assessing risk and regulatory needs, redesigning workflows, setting governance and controls, connecting AI with enterprise data and systems, and implementing solutions at scale. |
That division of work makes the alliance broader than a software supply agreement: PwC’s stated role includes organizational and implementation work around the technology. The announcement does not publish contract terms or specify how particular projects will be staffed or delivered.
What businesses could use it for
The partners identify enterprise search, knowledge access, deep research, content generation, decision support, and task automation as possible applications. PwC also says it will help clients examine existing workflows: which tasks might be improved or automated, where human judgment should remain involved, and how to define performance, accountability, and controls.
#1 Best Overall
These are use cases the companies say they intend to pursue, not a list of capabilities demonstrated in named customer deployments. No customer or completed alliance project is identified in the announcements.
Deployment options and security claims
The companies say deployments may run in private-cloud, on-premises, and air-gapped environments. Those options can give an organization more control over where systems run and how they connect to its infrastructure; the companies position them as relevant to sensitive data and regulated industries. Their releases do not include architecture diagrams, independent security assessments, or deployment-specific evidence that a particular implementation meets a particular regulation. Security, privacy, sovereignty, and control statements should therefore be read as the companies’ claims, not as independent certification.
Rank #2
The announcement names security, compliance, data sovereignty, privacy, cyber risk, governance, and accountability as issues the work is intended to address. It does not identify a regulated-sector customer or establish that every listed deployment option is available for every project.

PwC and Cohere say they plan to scale successful use cases and assess them against business priorities such as productivity, cost, service delivery, and decision-making. These are proposed measures for future work, not reported results. The announcements provide no alliance-specific performance figures, customer outcomes, customer count, contract value, or adoption rate.
Rank #3
For now, the announcement establishes the intended partnership, its first launch geography, the companies’ stated roles, and a set of possible applications and deployment environments. It does not establish how much an engagement will cost, which customers have signed on, or whether the alliance has delivered measurable gains.
