No official source reviewed confirms that Pokémon HeartGold or SoulSilver will return in February 2027. The February 2027 date in Pokémon’s official notices refers to Pokémon Bank ending service—not a game rerelease. Pokémon’s February 2026 announcements covered other titles, including FireRed and LeafGreen rereleases, but did not announce a return for HeartGold or SoulSilver.
Is a February 2027 HeartGold or SoulSilver rerelease confirmed?
No. The official sources reviewed do not substantiate a February 2027 release, preorder, new edition, or new platform for either game. Pokémon’s February 27, 2026 Pokémon Day roundup discusses the rerelease of Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version, as well as Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness coming to Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics. It does not announce HeartGold or SoulSilver returning.

That is a statement about what these official pages confirm, not proof that no announcement could be made later. Pokémon Support says public information about upcoming Pokémon titles will be posted at pokemon.com. Until an official announcement says otherwise, treat claims of a February 2027 HeartGold or SoulSilver release as unverified.

Bank-to-Pokémon HOME transfers will also stop when Bank service ends. If you have Pokémon stored in Bank, Pokémon advises moving them to HOME before the deadline. This service change is separate from whether any older game will be rereleased.

Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version are original Nintendo DS games; Pokémon’s official game page also describes them as compatible with Nintendo DSi. The page highlights updated graphics and sound, touch-screen features alongside button controls, and the included Pokéwalker accessory. The Pokéwalker communicates with the game card through an infrared connection, allowing a Pokémon to be transferred from the game to the accessory.
For these specific games, the established way to play is with an original HeartGold or SoulSilver Nintendo DS game card and compatible hardware. A listing for either cartridge is for the original DS release; it should not be mistaken for evidence of a confirmed 2027 edition. When considering a used copy, check which version it is, cartridge authenticity and condition, region and language, whether the Pokéwalker or other accessories are included, and whether you have compatible DS/DSi hardware. The official game page does not establish current stock or the condition of individual listings.

How to check for a real announcement
- Look for a dated announcement on Pokémon’s official news site or the official Pokémon title page.
- Check that it names HeartGold or SoulSilver and specifies the release format or platform and date. An unrelated rerelease or service deadline is not confirmation.
- For claims about an upcoming Pokémon game, use Pokémon Support’s guidance and wait for public information on pokemon.com rather than relying on an unsourced headline.
