To see your next meeting without opening an app, add Google Calendar’s schedule widget to an Android phone or tablet. For a shared room, use a room panel or a calendar-connected display; first decide whether you only need to show availability or also need to book rooms.
Choose a screen for the job
| Option | Best fit | Check before setup |
|---|---|---|
| Google Calendar widget | One person who wants upcoming events visible on an Android home screen | Android phone or tablet; choose schedule or month view and a suitable widget size |
| Microsoft Teams panel | An organization scheduling shared rooms through Outlook or Teams calendars | Room and device configuration, which meeting details appear, sync timing, and booking capabilities |
| Tablet or browser-based room display | A team reusing a screen it already owns | Calendar and device compatibility, always-on behavior, privacy settings, and whether booking is included |
| Digital-signage calendar | A central screen showing one or more rooms | Calendar refresh, screen or player compatibility, multi-room setup, and whether booking comes from a separate system |
These options do different jobs. A phone widget surfaces your personal schedule; a room display makes shared availability visible. A calendar on a screen does not necessarily let people reserve that room.

Show your personal schedule on Android
- Open the Android device’s home screen and find its Widgets menu. The exact gesture or menu placement can vary by device.
- Choose the Google Calendar widget. Google documents both a schedule widget for upcoming events and a month-view widget.
- Place and size the widget on the home screen, then use the view that makes the next event easiest to scan.
Google’s instructions cover Android phones and tablets; they do not establish an equivalent desktop widget. See Google Calendar’s widget instructions.

Use a dedicated room panel
Microsoft Teams panels are purpose-built devices for meeting spaces and show details for meetings scheduled through Outlook or Teams calendars. Microsoft says a meeting update can take up to 90 seconds to sync and appear on a panel. Its Upcoming Calendar tile shows room scheduling details up to 24 hours ahead from the current hour. These are Teams-panel specifics, not general guarantees for other calendar systems. Review Microsoft’s Teams panels documentation for configuration and capabilities.

Reuse a tablet or browser-enabled screen
Some room-display services support existing Android tablets or browser-enabled screens. Dash describes room and multi-room display modes and support for Android tablets and browser-enabled screens; compatibility is product-specific, so confirm the exact app, operating-system, and screen requirements before choosing a device. See Dash and its features page.
Use digital signage for a central view
Signage can publish a room calendar to supported smart displays or through an HDMI player. Look DS describes those options for its service, but signage by itself does not provide room-booking logic or write reservations back to a calendar. Check Look DS’s conference-room signage information and verify that the calendar or workplace system handles reservations if people need to book from the screen.

Check privacy and access before putting a calendar in public view
A display can reveal more than a room’s free/busy status. Before mounting a screen where visitors or passersby can see it, check whether it shows meeting titles, organizers, attendees, or descriptions. Dash says its displayed information can be customized to hide sensitive meeting names; confirm the available controls in the service you choose and test the actual public-facing view.
For a Microsoft 365 signage workflow, Fugo’s guide recommends a dedicated service account with read-only access to display Outlook calendars. Its guide also describes scheduled sign-ins and screenshot refreshes, and says its Dashboards feature requires arranging a demo. These details apply to Fugo’s product workflow, not calendar displays generally. See the Fugo Outlook calendar dashboard guide.

Separate seeing a room’s schedule from booking it
A screen can show room availability without being able to reserve the room. If people must book or change reservations from the display, verify that the connected calendar or workplace system supports that action and has the required write permissions. Treat display, calendar access, and booking as separate capabilities rather than assuming one includes the others.
