Set a solid background color before capturing
Use page.addStyleTag() to apply a CSS background, then capture the page. This example saves a PNG to page.png:

Changing html and body works when those elements determine the visible page background. Some sites paint the visible area with an app container, a full-screen component, or another nested element instead. In that case, target the element responsible for the color, for example:

await page.screenshot({ path: 'page.png' });Replace #app with a selector that matches the page’s actual background element. If the page’s own styles override your injected rule, use a more specific selector or apply the style after navigation and after the app has rendered.
Use transparency only when you want a transparent image
omitBackground: true hides Puppeteer’s default white background to allow a transparent screenshot; it is not a solid-color setting. The Puppeteer 25.12.0 ScreenshotOptions reference documents this behavior and lists false as the default.

});For a custom solid color, set the CSS background before capture instead. Puppeteer’s Page.screenshot() reference describes the method as capturing a screenshot of the page. The cited API references are version 25.12.0; if your installed Puppeteer version differs, check its corresponding documentation.
Capture a single element
If you need only one component rather than the whole page, select it and use ElementHandle.screenshot(), which the Puppeteer screenshots guide documents for element capture:

Troubleshoot a background that does not appear
- The output is transparent instead of colored: remove
omitBackground: trueand set a CSS background on the element that paints the page. - The screenshot is still white: the visible background may belong to a nested app element rather than
htmlorbody. Inspect the page and target the relevant selector. - The site’s original color wins: increase selector specificity, use
!importantas in the examples, or inject the style after the application has rendered. - The element capture has no color: verify that the selected element contains or paints the area you want, and apply the background to that element or its visible child.
