How to clean dust from a PS5 Pro
Sony’s PS5 Pro Safety Guide (CFI-70XX, Australia) calls for a handheld vacuum to remove dust from vents and from beneath the covers. Follow this routine:
- Turn off the console and unplug it. Disconnect the AC power cord before cleaning. If you plan to remove covers, let the console cool first.
- Check the setup. Leave at least 10 cm between the console and a wall. Keep it out of cramped spaces, off long-fibre rugs, and uncovered by cloth. Make sure no objects block the vents.
- Vacuum the vents. Use a handheld vacuum to remove visible dust buildup. Sony recommends this type of tool; it does not specify a brand.
- Clean beneath the covers if needed. Remove them only as directed in Sony’s PS5 Pro Console Covers instructions, then vacuum dust trapped underneath. Refit the covers before turning the console on; Sony says not to use it without them.
- Wipe the exterior. Use a soft, dry cloth on the plastic. Avoid insecticides, volatile substances such as paint thinner, benzene, or alcohol, and chemically treated cloths.
What not to do
- Do not block any vent or cover the console with fabric.
- Do not open the chassis or modify the console. Sony says there are no user-serviceable components inside.
- Do not use the console without its covers attached.
