Short answer: PS VR2 Sense controllers and Quest 3 Touch Plus controllers each work through their own headset’s documented PC VR connection path; they are not established as interchangeable. For PS VR2, connect the headset to a Windows PC with Sony’s PC adapter and pair both Sense controllers through Windows Bluetooth. For Quest 3, connect the headset through Meta Quest Link by cable or Air Link, or use Steam Link to stream Steam games wirelessly.
Compatibility at a glance
| Setup question | PS VR2 Sense on PC | Quest 3 Touch Plus on PC |
|---|---|---|
| Headset connection | PS VR2 PC adapter connected to a Windows PC | Quest Link by cable or Air Link; Steam Link is another wireless route for Steam games |
| Controller connection | Pair each Sense controller to Windows over Bluetooth using Sony’s button sequence | Controllers remain part of the Quest headset connection path; Meta documents PC VR through Quest Link, not direct PC pairing of Touch Plus controllers |
| PC software | Steam, SteamVR, and the PlayStation VR2 app | Meta Quest Link for Meta’s documented PC VR route, or Steam Link on Quest with Steam and SteamVR on the PC |
| Additional hardware | PC adapter and DisplayPort 1.4 cable; Bluetooth adapter only if the PC lacks Bluetooth | A cable for wired Link, or suitable Wi-Fi for Air Link or Steam Link |
| Cross-use with the other headset | Not established in Sony’s PC adapter documentation | Not established in Meta’s Quest PC VR documentation |
This is a comparison of two complete headset-to-PC setups, not a comparison of standalone controllers that can be freely swapped. Official setup information documents each controller with its own headset route and does not provide a verified cross-headset pairing procedure. Sony’s PC adapter manual and Meta’s device comparison describe those separate paths.

How PS VR2 Sense controllers connect to a PC
Sony’s documented PC route uses a PS VR2 headset, PC adapter, DisplayPort 1.4 cable, Steam, SteamVR, and the PlayStation VR2 app. The app’s Steam listing says it must remain installed after initial setup. A Bluetooth adapter is needed only if the PC does not have Bluetooth, according to the PlayStation VR2 app listing on Steam.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Install Steam, SteamVR, and the PlayStation VR2 app. Keep the PS VR2 app installed after setup.
- Connect the PS VR2 PC adapter to a USB 3.0 Type-A port on the PC. Connect the headset using a DisplayPort 1.4 cable.
- Pair the left Sense controller: hold its PS and Create buttons until the status indicator blinks, then select it in Windows Bluetooth settings.
- Pair the right Sense controller: hold its PS and Options buttons until the status indicator blinks, then select it in Windows Bluetooth settings.
Sony’s manual warns: “Do not use an extension cable or USB hub with the PC adapter, as it may cause it to malfunction.” Sony also notes that Bluetooth devices and the surrounding environment can affect connection or tracking, so the mere presence of a generic Bluetooth dongle does not establish that it will work equally well in every setup.

PC requirements listed by Steam
The PlayStation VR2 app listing on Steam, accessed in 2026, lists Windows 10 or 11, 8 GB RAM, and an Intel Core i5-7600 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 as minimum requirements. It lists an RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6600 XT or later as recommended graphics. These are the listing’s stated PC requirements, not a guarantee of performance in every game; check the current listing because software requirements can change.
How Quest 3 Touch Plus controllers connect to PC VR
Meta lists Quest 3 PC VR support through Meta Quest Link, either by cable or Air Link, and lists Touch Plus controllers as the Quest 3 controller set. In this route, the headset connects to the PC; Meta’s documentation does not describe pairing the controllers directly to the PC as a standalone alternative.
Use Meta Quest Link
Choose a wired Quest Link connection or Air Link to connect Quest 3 to the PC. Quest Link is Meta’s documented PC VR route. The connection is through the headset, with Touch Plus controllers used as the headset’s controllers.
Use Steam Link for wireless Steam games
- Install Steam and SteamVR on the PC and have them running.
- Install the Steam Link app on Quest and follow its connection flow to link the headset with the computer.
- Connect the PC and headset over the same wireless network, as described in the Steam Link listing on Meta Store.
The Meta Store listing, accessed in 2026, specifies a 5 GHz Wi-Fi 5 router as the minimum and recommends Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E plus a wired connection for the computer. Those are the listing’s network requirements and recommendations, not a promise of smooth streaming: results depend on the network path and local conditions.
Rank #2
- Aim and move with precision by swapping in fresh stick modules* so you’re always playing with equipment that’s in great shape. Plus, three types of changeable stick caps help you stay comfortable in-game without sacrificing grip or stability.
- Mappable back buttons The DualSense Edge wireless controller’s two swappable sets of back buttons can be configured to any other button input, so you’ve always got game-changing actions and essential controls at your fingertips.
- Adjustable trigger lengths Manually set the travel distance of your left and right triggers for an optimal experience with whatever you’re playing. Fast-paced FPS? Set a shorter travel distance to shoot faster on the field. Competitive racer? Set a longer travel distance for precise throttle control on the track.
- Remappable buttons Remap or even deactivate specific button inputs, so you can create a completely personalized control setup that’s ideal for the game at hand.
- Quick-swap control profiles Once you’ve found your ideal control settings, you can save them to unique profiles and swap between them on-the-fly, so your favourite configurations are always ready when you are.
What the comparison can—and cannot—tell you
The available documentation supports a practical choice based on the headset and connection route you intend to use. PS VR2’s PC path includes a dedicated adapter and Windows Bluetooth pairing for its controllers. Quest 3’s documented paths connect the headset through Quest Link or, for wireless Steam streaming, Steam Link.
Meta describes Touch Plus as having buttons, thumbsticks, triggers, haptic feedback, and 6DoF tracking. Those are manufacturer feature descriptions, not evidence of superiority over PS VR2 Sense controllers. The available sources do not provide a controlled, matched comparison of tracking accuracy, latency, comfort, or reliability, so they do not support naming a performance winner.
Can you use PS VR2 controllers with Quest 3, or Quest controllers with PS VR2?
No official cross-headset compatibility procedure is established in the Sony and Meta documentation cited here. Sony’s instructions pair Sense controllers to Windows for the PS VR2 PC adapter setup; Meta describes Quest 3 PC VR through the Quest headset’s connection. Do not assume that pairing either controller family directly to the other headset will work just because Bluetooth is involved.
Quick Recap
Which setup should you choose?
- Choose the PS VR2 PC route if you have a PS VR2 headset and want to use Sony’s documented PC adapter setup, including Windows Bluetooth pairing for Sense controllers.
- Choose Quest 3 with Quest Link if you want Meta’s documented wired or Air Link connection from Quest 3 to a PC.
- Choose Quest 3 with Steam Link if your priority is wireless streaming of Steam games and your network meets the Steam Link listing’s stated requirements.
