Sony has not confirmed a free Spider-Man game download for October 6. The Spider-Man offer is a set of limited-edition Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars in the Sony Pictures Core app; the October PlayStation Plus Monthly Games are three different titles.
What is actually available on October 6?
Sony’s September 30, 2026 announcement names these PlayStation Plus Monthly Games, available to claim from Tuesday, October 6 through Monday, November 2:

| October Monthly Game | Platforms |
|---|---|
| F1 25 | PS5 |
| Hunt: Showdown 1896 | PS5 |
| Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 | PS5, PS4 |
The lineup may differ by region; Sony advises checking the PlayStation Store on release day. These are playable games for eligible subscribers to claim during the stated window. The Spider-Man promotion is a different kind of offer: profile avatars, not a game to download and play. Sony’s October announcement describes both offers.

How the Spider-Man avatar offer works
From October 6, PlayStation Plus members can claim limited-edition Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars in the Sony Pictures Core app at no extra cost. Sony’s Adam Michel, Senior Director of Content Acquisition & Operations at Sony Interactive Entertainment, said: “PlayStation Plus members can claim avatars in-app at no extra cost.”
#1 Best Overall
- Based on the hit playstation game
- Figure is in 7" Scale
- Interchangeable hands, head, and web accessories
- Designed by eamon o'donoghue
- Sculpted by Gentle giant Studios
The offer is available only in regions where Sony Pictures Core is available, and Sony says the promotion ends October 20, 2026. That is distinct from the avatar voucher code’s expiration date: October 6, 2027. The October 20 date is the promotion window, not the code expiry.
Members and non-members
- PlayStation Plus members: Claim the avatars in the Sony Pictures Core app at no extra cost during the promotion.
- Non-members: Sony says they must get Spider-Man: Brand New Day on Sony Pictures Core to get the avatars. The movie is not being offered free with PlayStation Plus.
“At no extra cost” describes the avatar claim for members, not the membership itself. Sony notes that PlayStation Plus is a recurring subscription with automatic charges until cancellation.

- COLLECTIBLE FIGURES AND ROLEPLAY TOYS: Fans, collectors, and kids alike can enjoy these collectible figures and roleplay toys, inspired by characters from the Marvel Universe.
Is Spider-Man free on PS Plus October 6?
No Spider-Man game download is part of the October 6 announcement. If you searched for a “free Spider-Man game download” or “free Spider-Man download,” the confirmed item is the avatar promotion, while the monthly games are F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2.
