To print a Google Doc in landscape on a computer, open File > Page setup, switch the document to Pages if it is set to Pageless, select Landscape, and click OK. Then choose File > Print. If Docs downloads a PDF, open that file and print it from your PDF viewer.
Make the whole document landscape on a computer

Open the document in Google Docs.

Choose File > Page setup.

If the document is set to Pageless, select Pages at the top of the dialog. Orientation is a page-based setting and is not available in Pageless format.

Under Orientation, choose Landscape.

Click OK. Google Docs also offers an option to make the chosen page settings the default for new documents; use that only if you want future documents to start with those settings.

Check the document in print layout, then choose File > Print. Review the print settings and select Print. Google’s computer workflow may download the document as a PDF; if it does, open the PDF and print it from your PDF viewer.

Make only one section or selected content landscape
You do not have to rotate every page to accommodate a wide table, chart, or graphic. Google Docs supports documents with portrait and landscape sections.

On a computer, select the content you want on a landscape page, then use the page-orientation command in the right-click context menu; or insert a section break where the landscape section should begin.

Set the orientation through File > Page setup or Format > Page orientation.

Choose whether the change applies to This section or This section forward. Use Whole document only when every page should be landscape.

Review the section boundaries and print preview before printing to ensure the surrounding pages retain the intended orientation.

Change orientation in the mobile app
Android

Open the document and enter edit mode.

Tap More > Page setup > Orientation, then choose Landscape.

Use Print layout to preview the page-based layout. Google’s Android instructions describe these controls.

iPhone or iPad

Open the document and tap More > Page setup > Orientation, then choose Landscape.

To print, tap More > Share & export > Print and continue through your device’s print flow. Menu details and printer selection can vary by device. See Google’s iPhone and iPad page setup help and iOS printing instructions.

Fix common landscape-printing problems
Page setup or orientation is missing
The document may be in Pageless format. On a computer, open File > Page setup and select Pages; then set the orientation. Pageless is a continuous-scroll format without page breaks, so it does not provide the same page-layout controls as Pages. Google explains the distinction in its pages-versus-pageless guidance.

The print preview does not match the Pageless document
Pageless content can reflow when printed: images adjust to the page width and wide tables may be squeezed to fit. For more control over printed page breaks and orientation, switch to Pages before printing. Google describes this behavior in its computer printing help.
Docs downloads a PDF instead of opening the printer dialog
This can be part of Google Docs’ computer printing workflow. Open the downloaded PDF and print it from a PDF viewer, checking its print settings before sending it to the printer.
