Is Premiere Rush discontinued?
Yes. Adobe removed Rush from Adobe.com and app-store downloads on September 30, 2025. Its FAQ said existing installed versions could be used until September 30, 2026, when technical support ends; Adobe also warns that the apps may no longer function after that date. The FAQ was last updated September 30, 2026. If Rush is still installed on your device, its future reliability is not assured, especially as devices or operating systems change.
Can you still use Premiere Rush?
If Rush is already installed, you may be able to open it and work with existing projects, but Adobe’s stated use period has ended. The app may stop functioning, and you should not count on downloading it for a new device or reinstalling it from an app store. Before changing devices or software, preserve copies of your original media and any project exports you need; do not assume that an installed copy will remain usable as your operating system updates.

What replaced Premiere Rush?
Adobe names Premiere on mobile and Premiere on desktop as the transition route. Adobe says Premiere on mobile is available for iPhone and Android. Its FAQ describes project handoff from Premiere on iPhone to desktop, while Android handoff was described there as coming soon. That is Adobe’s documented position in the FAQ, not a guarantee that every project or device will transfer seamlessly; check Adobe’s current instructions for your platform before committing to a migration.

Choose CapCut if you need an editor you can access now
CapCut is the clearer fit if you are starting from scratch and want a currently documented editor across mobile, desktop, or web. Check the exact platform and plan for tools you depend on: CapCut’s feature materials distinguish Standard from Pro, including advanced AI features, and do not promise every feature in every tier.

Keep Rush only as a short-term legacy workflow
If Rush remains installed and opens your projects, it may be useful while you export or reorganize work. Treat that as a transition period rather than a durable setup: Adobe’s support and functionality cutoff has passed, and new installs are unavailable through Adobe and app stores.

Use Premiere when continuity with Adobe is the priority
If you want Adobe’s stated replacement path, investigate Premiere on mobile and desktop and confirm how your source media, exports, and project handoff work for your particular device. Adobe’s iPhone-to-desktop handoff guidance is more specific than its Android handoff status in the cited FAQ.

Check templates, subscriptions, and platform before switching
- Templates: CapCut says template availability depends on platform. Desktop support is limited, and paid templates cannot be browsed, viewed, or purchased on web or desktop according to its help pages. Verify the current app version and regional availability if templates matter to your workflow.
- Subscription: CapCut displays its final subscription price at checkout; the amount may vary with region, platform, and taxes. Do not rely on a price quoted for another country or device.
- Rush entitlements: Adobe’s March 27, 2026 plan help described a free Starter plan with unlimited free exports, but also said subscription renewals had stopped after September 30, 2025. Existing users’ premium access depends on their account and renewal history, so historical plan descriptions are not a current offer.
Bottom line for choosing
For a new editing setup, CapCut is the more practical choice between these two because Rush is no longer available for routine new downloads and may no longer function. If your priority is staying in Adobe’s ecosystem, follow Adobe’s Premiere transition guidance; if you already have Rush projects, secure your media and exports before relying on the legacy app further.
