1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTo use multicam in Premiere Pro, first create a synchronized multicamera source sequence from your camera clips, then create a target sequence, enable Multi-Camera View in the Program Monitor, and switch angles during playback. The key choices are how to sync the clips and what audio should remain audible.
1. Prepare and synchronize the camera clips
Import the camera footage and any separately recorded audio into the same project. In the Project panel, select clips from the same event or take, then choose Clip > Create Multi-Camera Source Sequence. Select a synchronization method in the dialog. Adobe’s multi-camera source sequence guide describes these options:

| Sync method | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Timecode | Clips have accurate, overlapping timecode. Premiere also offers Linear Timecode (timecode carried in a clip’s audio), Sound Timecode (from a separate audio recorder), and Aux Timecode (embedded secondary timecode). |
| Audio | The clips share a clear audio reference that Premiere can match. |
| Clip Marker | You have placed markers at the same event in each clip. |
| In Points, Out Points | You can mark matching points manually, or audio sync is not usable. |
Use timecode only if it is reliable and overlaps across the clips. If cameras recorded different starting hours but otherwise have overlapping timecode, enable Ignore Hours. For a separately recorded audio clip that is slightly offset, use Offset Audio by; the dialog accepts an offset from -100 to +100 frames.

Group angles and preserve gaps when needed
The dialog can group clips using Camera Angle or Camera Label metadata, placing matching labels or angles on their own tracks. This can also organize external or field audio. If you need a single source sequence that retains gaps in the recording, enable Create Single Multicam Source Sequence. Without it, Premiere combines overlapping clips, and clips with no overlap may be left unused. After creation, inspect the sequence and check whether any clips remain outside the Processed Clips bin.

Choose the audio mode according to what you want to hear in the edited sequence:

| Audio mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Camera 1 | Keeps Camera 1 audio for the editing sequence; other audio associated with video 1 is muted as Adobe describes. Does not support audio-follows-video. |
| All Cameras | Retains audio channels from all source clips, up to 32 channels according to Adobe. Does not support audio-follows-video. |
| Switch Audio | Switches audio with its linked video. Supports multicamera editing on audio and video when audio-follows-video is enabled in the Program Monitor. |
The audio channel preset can be Automatic, Mono, Stereo, 5.1, or Adaptive. For an interview with a separately recorded clean mix, plan which audio source should stay audible while you cut; camera scratch audio does not necessarily belong in the finished program. 3. Create the target sequence and turn on Multi-Camera View
- In the Project panel, right-click the multicamera source clip and choose New Sequence From Clip. Premiere creates a target sequence with a track for each camera angle, as described in Adobe’s target sequence guide.
- In the Program Monitor, open the Button Editor.
- Find Toggle Multi-Camera View, drag it onto the monitor’s button bar, and enable it.
The monitor displays the camera views alongside the program output. If you do not see the toggle on the button bar, add it using the Button Editor.

- Small and Portable with Built-In Battery
- Built-In Search Dial
- Keyboard Shortcuts Match Edit Functions
- Bluetooth or USB Connectivity
- Bundle Includes DaVinci Resolve 17 Studio (Activation Card)
4. Switch angles while playback runs
Play the target sequence and press the main-keyboard number for the angle you want. Premiere records each switch as an edit in the timeline, so you can make a first-pass cut while watching the sequence play.
- To correct an angle at an existing cut, select that timeline clip and choose the desired camera in the Program Monitor.
- To change the timing of a cut without changing the selected shot, use the Rolling Edit Tool and move the edit point.
- Play the edited sequence again to review the picture and sound transitions.
5. Identify angles with labels and overlays
Camera labels depend on the naming choice made when you created the source sequence. Adobe’s current overlay guide describes showing up to two properties in Multi-Camera View, such as Camera Name and Source Timecode. In the Source Monitor, open the wrench menu and choose Overlay Settings > Settings; select the properties, then adjust text size, opacity, and whether overlays remain visible during playback. You can save an overlay configuration as a preset. See Adobe’s Multi-Camera View overlay instructions.

Fix common multicam setup problems
- Clips do not line up: confirm that timecode actually overlaps and is accurate. Otherwise, try a clear shared audio reference, matching markers, or manually set in/out points. Adobe also documents synchronizing clips in the Timeline panel in its clip synchronization guide.
- A clip is missing from the source sequence: check for clips without overlap and inspect the Processed Clips bin. Enable Create Single Multicam Source Sequence if one sequence needs to preserve recording gaps.
- The wrong sound follows an angle: review the chosen audio mode. Only Switch Audio supports audio-follows-video; Camera 1 and All Cameras do not.
- Angle switching is unavailable in the monitor: add and enable Toggle Multi-Camera View using the Program Monitor’s Button Editor.
