PorkiCoder 1.7.0: Custom Domains, Terminal Reflow and Zen Mode

PorkiCoder 1.7.0 focuses on custom domains and terminal/UI reliability. Its “keep the work” close-window changes appear in 1.7.1–1.7.3, with different behavior by window and OS.

PorkiCoder 1.7.0, dated May 3, 2026, adds a way to import domains you already own and improves domain cleanup, terminal text reflow after resizing, and Zen-mode controls. The “close the window, keep the work” behavior belongs to later releases: 1.7.1 and 1.7.2 address detached-terminal reattachment, while 1.7.3 describes macOS-specific behavior for closing or quitting the main IDE.

What changed in PorkiCoder 1.7.0?

The 1.7.0 changelog groups its changes around domain management and two terminal-interface fixes. It does not describe the later close-window behavior.

Import a domain you already own

The new “Import existing domain” flow is intended for a domain registered elsewhere. You prove control with a DNS challenge, then connect the domain to a PorkiCoder-published site. The release notes name Namecheap, Cloudflare, and GoDaddy as examples, and say domains from other registrars are also contemplated. The workflow adds a corresponding custom_domains database row; it is not a requirement to buy the domain again.

Repair missing domain records and clean up site deletion

At launch, the app reconciles domains owned at the registrar with its local database and recreates missing custom_domains rows. This is meant to cover domains acquired before that table existed as well as rows lost during earlier schema changes. When a published site is deleted, its attached custom-domain rows are now deleted in the same transaction, preventing stale records from blocking a later reattachment.

Reflow terminal text after widening

The changelog says terminal output could remain wrapped to the old, narrower width after the window was widened. Its account of the fix describes making PTY resizing idempotent and ungating it, then using requestAnimationFrame and a 250 ms settle pass for the debounced fit. These are the vendor’s release-note details, not independently verified test results.

Move the Zen-mode indicator and contain Escape

The Zen-mode indicator moved from the top-right to a top-center button so it would not cover terminal controls. The Escape handler now runs in capture phase and stops propagation, preventing the same keypress from reaching xterm and cancelling terminal activity.

When did PorkiCoder add “close the window, keep the work” behavior?

That story spans 1.7.1 through 1.7.3, all dated May 3, 2026 in the changelog. It is separate from the 1.7.0 changes above, and its behavior depends on which window is closed, the operating system, and the action taken.

Release Window or action Behavior described in the changelog
1.7.1 Close the detached terminal window using its macOS red button Reattaches its terminals to the main IDE through a handshake. The notes say PTY output is transit-buffered, scrollback is captured, and the detached window is destroyed after the reattach signal. They also say PTYs owned by a still-live detached window are preserved if the main IDE closes.
1.7.2 Detached-window reattachment Hardens the handshake: close signals are blocked during reattachment, the window is destroyed after the handshake instead of being closed recursively, and the detached window is cleaned up if reattachment fails.
1.7.3 Quit or close the main IDE on macOS Cmd+Q, dock Quit, and app-menu Quit hide the window to preserve running PTYs. An explicit “Quit & terminate scripts” path is also described. The notes say the app exits native fullscreen before hiding and restores the window when its dock icon is clicked.
1.7.3 Close the main IDE on Linux or Windows The notes say the main-window red-X action remains a real close and cleans up its PTYs.

These are descriptions in PorkiCoder’s changelog, not independently tested guarantees. In particular, the detached-terminal red-button path in 1.7.1–1.7.2 should not be conflated with the main-window behavior described in 1.7.3.
