If none stands out, use that preference as a tie-breaker rather than treating it as a proven gameplay advantage.

Check which game you are playing
The official Ruby and Sapphire overview notes that Abilities and Natures affect battle performance and highlights double battles. Those mechanics are reasons to consider the specific game and how you like to play, not evidence that one starter is best across every Hoenn game. The available official comparisons do not provide a starter ranking by stats, move coverage, Gym difficulty, or overall campaign ease.
