This comparison is between Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 15 5G and the POCO Global model named POCO X8 (listed by some comparison retailers as POCO X8 5G). A Gadgets Now India listing displays ₹28,999 for the Redmi and ₹29,999 for the POCO—a ₹1,000 difference—but the page does not establish a matched RAM/storage tier or consistent offer terms. Treat it as a listing snapshot, not a guaranteed like-for-like price. Check the comparison listing and confirm the exact configuration and checkout price before buying.

At a glance: what separates the POCO X8 and Redmi Note 15 5G?

On published specifications, the POCO X8 has the larger, higher-resolution display, a substantially larger listed battery, faster charging and wired reverse charging. The Redmi Note 15 5G is lighter and narrower, lists a 108MP main camera alongside an 8MP ultrawide, and supports microSD expansion. Those differences identify hardware trade-offs; they do not establish which phone takes better photos, runs faster in practice or lasts longer in real-world use.

Which phone has the better display?

The POCO X8 has a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel at 2772 × 1280, which POCO describes as 1.5K. The Redmi Note 15 5G has a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel at 2392 × 1080. Both list refresh rates up to 120Hz. Choose the POCO on paper if screen size and pixel resolution are priorities; the Redmi’s smaller display is part of a lighter, narrower design.

How do their cameras differ?

The Redmi lists a 108MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide. The POCO lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 2MP depth camera. The Redmi therefore offers a specifically listed ultrawide camera, while POCO specifies OIS for its main camera. Megapixel counts and camera components alone cannot show which phone produces better images; no controlled head-to-head camera test is established here.

Which has more battery capacity and faster charging?

POCO lists an 8,340mAh typical battery and 67W charging; Xiaomi lists 5,520mAh typical and 45W charging for the Redmi Note 15 5G. POCO also lists wired reverse charging up to 22.5W, while Xiaomi’s cited specification page makes no reverse-charging claim. These are manufacturer specifications, not measured screen-on time or a direct battery-life test. POCO’s phrase “Massive 8340mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge” is promotional product wording, not a runtime result.

Neither global product page includes a power adapter in the box. Xiaomi recommends a compatible 45W PD adapter or its own 45W adapter; POCO recommends a compatible 67W PD adapter or an official Xiaomi 67W adapter. Package contents can vary by region, so check the Indian listing before buying a charger.

Which is easier to carry, and what about storage?

The Redmi is listed at 178g and 7.35mm thick, compared with the POCO at 223g and 8.6mm. It is also narrower: 75.42mm versus 78.27mm. The Redmi is the more compact and lighter option by these published dimensions; the POCO is larger and heavier.

Xiaomi lists Redmi configurations up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, plus microSD expansion up to 1TB. Its second SIM and microSD share a hybrid slot, so using a memory card may mean giving up the second SIM position. POCO lists configurations up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and its cited global specs do not list microSD. These are global options, not a guarantee that every tier is sold in India; verify local stock and configuration.

What is the India price difference?

The Gadgets Now comparison page displays ₹28,999 for the Redmi Note 15 and ₹29,999 for the POCO X8, putting the POCO ₹1,000 higher in that listing. The same page lists different base RAM/storage variants, so this is not a confirmed matched-configuration price comparison, and listed prices or offers may change.

Android Central separately reports Redmi Note 15 India launch prices of ₹22,999 for 8/128GB and ₹24,999 for 8/256GB. Those are launch-price figures, not proof of current selling prices; the available sources do not resolve why they differ from the comparison listing. Compare the same RAM/storage tier at checkout rather than treating either figure as a universal current price. Android Central’s Redmi Note 15 review and launch pricing.

Which one should you buy?

Choose POCO X8 if these listed features matter most

  • You want the larger 6.83-inch, 1.5K display.
  • You value the higher listed battery capacity, 67W charging and wired reverse charging.
  • You do not need a microSD card slot and are comfortable with a heavier, wider phone.

Choose Redmi Note 15 5G if these listed features matter most

  • You want a lighter, narrower handset.
  • You want an ultrawide camera included in the listed rear-camera setup.
  • You need microSD expansion or a listed storage option above 256GB, subject to local availability.

Before deciding, check that the Indian model supports your carrier’s network bands, that the warranty applies where you will use it, and that you are comparing the same RAM/storage tier. Xiaomi says network-band support depends on region and operator; both manufacturers warn that specifications or package details can vary by market.

What should you know about protection and regional specifications?

Xiaomi lists IP66 for the Redmi Note 15 5G, but says resistance applies under specific laboratory conditions and can decline with wear or damage. An IP rating is not a promise that a phone is waterproof or that liquid damage outside the test conditions will be covered. The comparison retailer lists additional POCO protection claims, including Gorilla Glass Victus 2, but those claims are not established on the cited POCO global specification page. Confirm the exact Indian POCO model’s official specifications and test conditions before relying on them.

Xiaomi also notes that NFC availability may vary by market and that network bands depend on region and operator. It says the global Redmi package does not include a power adapter; POCO likewise says its global package does not include one. Check the regional product page and box contents for the unit you plan to buy.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
