For a like-for-like comparison, this article means the REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G, not the separate 4G REDMI Note 15 Pro. POCO X8 Pro lists the higher-tier processor and faster charging; REDMI offers the larger display, a higher-resolution main camera and a slightly larger stated battery. Neither specification sheet proves which phone is faster in everyday use, takes better photos or lasts longer. There is no dependable price difference to quote without a country, storage configuration, seller and purchase date.
Check which REDMI Note 15 Pro you mean
Xiaomi Global lists two different phones under the REDMI Note 15 Pro name. The 4G version uses a Helio G200-Ultra, has a 6.77-inch FHD+ display and IP65 protection, and does not list 5G connectivity. The 5G version uses a Dimensity 7400-Ultra, has a 6.83-inch 1.5K display, supports 5G and lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. Which phone should you choose?
Choose POCO X8 Pro if its listed hardware priorities fit yours
- Its product page names the Dimensity 8500-Ultra, a higher-tier processor than the Dimensity 7400-Ultra named for REDMI. That comparison is based on the listed processor models, not independent benchmark or everyday-speed testing.
- Its 6.59-inch display is smaller than REDMI’s 6.83-inch panel, which may suit someone who prefers a more compact screen.
- It lists up to 100W charging, compared with REDMI’s 45W. The POCO page reports 48 minutes from 1% to 100% in an internal-lab test using a 100W in-box charger, screen off and “Top speed” mode; actual results can vary. This is not a head-to-head charging test against REDMI.
Choose REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G if its listed features matter more
- Its 6.83-inch panel is larger, while both phones are listed with AMOLED displays, 1.5K-class resolutions and refresh rates up to 120Hz.
- Its main camera has a higher stated resolution: 200MP versus POCO’s 50MP. Both list OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Megapixel counts alone do not establish which phone produces better photos.
- Xiaomi lists rear video up to 4K at 30fps for REDMI. The specifications here do not establish a matching POCO video capability.
- Its 6580mAh typical battery capacity is slightly greater than POCO’s listed 6500mAh. Capacity alone does not show which phone lasts longer between charges.
- Its Global page lists four ingress-protection codes, compared with POCO’s IP68. Ratings are based on defined tests, not a reason to deliberately expose either phone to water.
Battery, charging and durability: what the numbers do and do not tell you
The capacities and charging rates are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of battery life or charging performance in ordinary use. POCO’s 48-minute figure is a manufacturer internal-lab result under the specific conditions above, not a guaranteed time or a direct comparison with REDMI. REDMI’s Global specifications list a 45W in-box charger; POCO advises checking whether the adapter is included in the local package. Xiaomi also notes that package contents can vary by region. Check the product page and seller listing for the exact market and configuration.

IP codes reflect defined ingress-protection tests. Xiaomi’s POCO page describes IP68 testing up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes. These ratings do not guarantee protection in every real-world situation, and the manufacturer’s terms and cautions apply. Do not use either rating as a recommendation to test the phone in water.
Price difference: compare local equivalents, not headline prices
There is no single current price gap to report from the Global product pages. A fair comparison needs the same country, RAM and storage tier, purchase date and sale conditions, as well as comparable seller warranty. Prices, network bands, adapter availability and other package details can vary by market. Xiaomi’s India REDMI page illustrates why country-specific product claims should not automatically be treated as global specifications.

- Match the country and exact phone variant, including whether REDMI is the 4G or 5G model.
- Compare the same RAM and storage capacity, with discounts and seller warranty accounted for.
- Check local network bands, SIM or eSIM support, and whether the charging adapter is included.
What the specification pages cannot settle
The manufacturer pages establish listed components, capacities and ratings; they do not provide a controlled comparison of benchmark performance, camera results, battery endurance or software-support duration. The POCO page describes HyperOS 3 feature availability as dependent on region, software version and model, while REDMI’s Global specifications list HyperOS 2. Do not infer an update schedule or identical feature availability from those labels alone.
