A full head-to-head between the POCO X8 Pro Max and the Nothing Phone 4b isn’t possible yet. Xiaomi and POCO publish official specifications for the POCO X8 Pro Max, but we could not find an official Nothing product page or primary documentation for a Phone 4b. That leaves no verified winner and no verified price difference. This article sets out what the POCO side confirms, why the Nothing figures and prices circulating online can’t be relied on, and what a fair comparison would need before it can be made.

Reading the POCO figures carefully
Official numbers are useful, but each one comes with a condition that changes how much weight it can carry.

The official page gives the battery as a typical capacity, which is a manufacturer’s representative figure rather than a guaranteed minimum. The 100W HyperCharge rating describes the charging capability of the phone. The pages we checked don’t say which charger ships in the box, so don’t assume a 100W adapter is included unless your regional listing says so.

Display brightness
The brightness claim is a POCO internal test figure of 3500 nits peak, measured over 25% of the display area. Xiaomi notes that actual results may vary. Use it as an indication of what POCO measured, not as a number you can compare directly against another phone’s brightness spec sheet.
The AnTuTu score
The official page reports a score of 3,085,998 on AnTuTu V11, produced by POCO Internal Labs using AnTuTu V11.0.5 at approximately 25°C. This is a vendor lab result, not independent comparative testing. It tells you how the phone performed in POCO’s setup, not how it would compare with rivals tested under other conditions or how it sustains performance over long sessions.

Water and dust resistance
IP68 is a tested rating. Xiaomi’s stated test conditions are static freshwater submersion up to 2 metres for up to 30 minutes. Xiaomi says real-world use may differ and that protection is not assured beyond those conditions. Treat the rating as a laboratory standard, not a promise for pools, seawater, hot water or accidental drops into unusual liquids.

The official page lists the camera hardware: a 50MP Light Fusion 600 main camera with optical image stabilisation and an 8MP ultrawide. Hardware specifications don’t determine photo quality, and the sources available for this article contain no independent camera testing of this model. Any claim about low-light or zoom performance should wait for independent reviews.

Why the Nothing Phone 4b figures can’t be verified
The Nothing side of this comparison rests on third-party comparison pages, not on Nothing’s own documentation. Those pages assign the Phone 4b a set of specifications and a price, but we found no official Nothing product page or primary specification sheet confirming that model. Until one turns up, treat every Nothing spec in circulation as unverified.

- We have not substituted the Nothing Phone (4a), the POCO X8 Pro or any other similarly named device. If you meant one of those, the comparison would need to be rebuilt around it.
Price figures in circulation
The only price pair we found comes from a 91mobiles comparison page, accessed in 2026. It is a set of third-party listing prices, not manufacturer launch prices or verified live retail prices.

- We do not calculate a price gap. The two figures come from different sellers, were captured at an unspecified 2026 date, and one of them belongs to an unconfirmed product.
- Prices change often. Check the current listing from the seller before you make a decision.
Running a fair comparison once the Nothing model is confirmed
A meaningful head-to-head needs both phones documented to the same standard. Use this order:
- Confirm the exact Nothing model name and locate its official product page on Nothing’s own website.
- Choose the market you are buying in, then check that POCO’s official regional page lists the same configuration you are comparing.
- Match storage and memory. The POCO UK page lists 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB, so compare like with like.
- Record prices from named sellers or official pages, with the date and the currency.
- Compare chipset, display, battery, charging, cameras, dimensions and weight using each manufacturer’s own specification pages.
- Separate vendor benchmark scores from independent testing, and run the same benchmark on both phones where independent results exist.
- Check the software update commitment, warranty terms, and network and eSIM support for your carrier.
Which phone to consider for now
The POCO X8 Pro Max has the more complete official record of the two, so it is the only one of the pair you can assess on documented specifications today. Use these points to decide how far to go on that basis:
- If you prioritise a large battery and fast charging, the POCO’s official figures are concrete. You still need the Nothing numbers before you can judge whether they are competitive.
- If you need dust and water resistance, IP68 is listed, but only within Xiaomi’s stated test conditions.
- If you are comparing prices, wait for a confirmed listing in your own market before drawing any conclusion.
- Avoid choosing between the two on the POCO spec sheet alone. Without a verified Nothing Phone 4b, a winner cannot be named.
