What the differences mean in use
Display
The POCO X7 has more pixels on a similar-sized panel, so text and fine detail look sharper, though the difference is most visible up close. Both support up to 120Hz, so refresh rate is not a differentiator on paper.
Processor
The two phones use different chip families, MediaTek on the POCO and Qualcomm on the Redmi. A chipset name does not settle real-world speed, sustained gaming performance or thermal behaviour. For that, look at independent tests of the games and apps you use, and check whether the test used the same memory configuration you plan to buy.

Cameras
The Redmi’s 108MP main sensor has more pixels than the POCO’s 50MP, but megapixel count is not a measure of image quality. The POCO specifies optical image stabilisation on its main camera and adds a 2MP macro lens. The Redmi’s listing does not mention a dedicated macro camera. For photo quality, compare sample images taken in the same conditions rather than the spec sheet.
Battery and charging
The Redmi’s larger typical capacity should translate into longer use, but capacity alone does not guarantee screen-on time, which depends on brightness, refresh rate, network signal and app use. Both phones list 45W charging, so charging speed is roughly similar on paper. The practical difference is the charger: the POCO’s listing says a charger comes in the box, while the Redmi’s does not, which adds cost if you do not already own a compatible 45W adapter.

Storage and expansion
If you keep a large local media library, the Redmi’s microSD slot is the most significant practical advantage. The POCO’s cited page lists only internal storage variants. Compare storage and RAM like for like before comparing prices, because a 256GB model and a 512GB model are not equivalent purchases.
Water and dust resistance
The POCO’s IP68 rating is higher than the Redmi’s IP66, but both ratings come from laboratory conditions. Xiaomi warns that these ratings do not mean the phones should be deliberately exposed to water and that protection can deteriorate with wear. Neither phone should be treated as waterproof for everyday use, and an IP rating does not cover accidental drops or damage.

Size and weight
The Redmi is slightly larger in height and width but lighter, at 178g against the POCO’s 185.5g or 190g, depending on back material. Material differences are listed separately on the POCO’s page, so check the exact model you are buying.

Launch pricing
Android Central reports that the Redmi Note 15 first appeared in China in August 2025, rolled out globally on December 18, 2025, and launched in India on January 6, 2026. In its review, it reports a starting price of INR 22,999 or €279, and INR 24,999 or €299 for the 8GB/256GB configuration. These are launch-period figures from one publication, not current offers in any market. Read the Android Central review for the date and context of those figures.

Current listings
The 91mobiles comparison page showed India prices of ₹17,999 for the POCO X7 and ₹28,999 for the Redmi Note 15 when it was reviewed. The page does not give a reliable date, and the configurations and retailers behind those figures are not matched in a way that supports a like-for-like gap. Treat them as a snapshot from one listing, and check live prices before relying on them.
How to compare prices fairly
- Choose the country you will buy in, and confirm which Redmi Note 15 variant that market sells. A 4G model is not the 5G model discussed here.
- Match the memory configuration exactly, such as 8GB/256GB against 8GB/256GB. Also note whether the Redmi price includes a charger.
- Record the price, retailer and date on the same day for both phones. Prices in the same market can change within days.
- Label any launch price as a launch price. Do not compare it with a current street price.
- Check whether the retailer offers a local warranty for each model, since warranty terms can differ by market.
Which phone suits which buyer
Pick the POCO X7 if you want the sharper 1.5K display and the higher IP68 rating, and you can buy it at a competitive local price. Pick the Redmi Note 15 5G if you want a larger stated battery, the 108MP main camera, a lighter body, microSD expansion, or a body with a slightly smaller footprint for one-handed use. Neither phone is a clear winner on every axis. If the price gap in your market is small, the feature that matters most to you should decide the purchase; if the gap is large, the cheaper phone is usually the better buy as long as its configuration matches what you need.
Once you have checked local prices, check that the phone you find on the retailer’s page matches the model and configuration you compared. The specification pages linked above are the reference for what each model includes.
