The POCO M8 5G has the higher-resolution AMOLED display, while the realme P4R 5G pairs a faster listed refresh rate with a much larger rated battery. A Smartprix price snapshot updated September 21, 2026, lists the P4R ₹2,909 below the POCO, but that is not a guaranteed current or like-for-like price.

Which phone has the better display?
The POCO M8’s published 2392×1080 resolution is substantially higher than the 720×1570 resolution listed for the P4R in Gadgets 360’s comparison. That makes the POCO the stronger choice on pixel resolution alone. The P4R’s advertised 144Hz refresh rate is higher than the POCO’s listed maximum of 120Hz, which is a separate display attribute: refresh rate does not make a lower-resolution panel sharper.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsPanel type also differs: POCO specifies Flow AMOLED, while the comparison lists the P4R as LCD. realme advertises peak brightness of 1200 nits, but that figure does not by itself establish how the displays compare in varied real-world conditions. These are published specifications, not a side-by-side display test.

Battery capacity and charging
The P4R’s rated 8000mAh capacity is larger than the POCO M8’s 5520mAh typical capacity. Both are listed with 45W charging. Capacity alone cannot establish how long either phone lasts in use; screen settings, network conditions, software, and workload affect runtime, and no independent controlled endurance comparison is established here.
Processor and camera differences
Processor
POCO specifies a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, while realme specifies a MediaTek Dimensity 6300. The chip names identify the platforms, but without comparable benchmark or use testing they do not establish which phone is faster.

Cameras
POCO lists a 50MP Light Fusion 400 main camera, a 2MP depth camera, a 20MP front camera, and rear video recording up to 4K/30fps. Gadgets 360 lists a 50MP rear camera and 8MP front camera for the P4R; realme’s page highlights AI imaging. The listed front-camera resolution favors POCO on paper, but megapixel counts do not prove selfie quality, and no comparative photo samples or camera test are established.
Durability ratings: what they do and do not mean
POCO lists an IP66 rating under controlled conditions and cautions that resistance can deteriorate over time; it says not to immerse the phone. realme advertises IP65 dust and water resistance and MIL-STD-810H shock-resistance certification. These are manufacturer claims and classifications, not promises that either phone is waterproof or damage-proof. POCO product information and realme India product page describe the respective claims.

Which one should you choose?
- Consider POCO M8 5G if the higher-resolution AMOLED display and its higher listed front-camera resolution matter more to you.
- Consider realme P4R 5G if the larger rated battery and 144Hz advertised refresh rate better fit your priorities, and you confirm its lower price against a matching POCO configuration.
Neither choice is an evidence-backed winner for speed, camera quality, or battery life: those outcomes require testing beyond the published specifications.
