The POCO M7 Pro 5G is the stronger fit if you want a sharper AMOLED display, an OIS-equipped main camera on the spec sheet, or faster rated charging. The Xiaomi Redmi A7 Pro 5G offers a larger display and battery, microSD expansion, and a published India-market software-support commitment. There is no verified like-for-like current price gap: Xiaomi’s catalog result showed ₹14,999 for the Redmi, but a comparable POCO price was not verified.

Which screen is better for your use?

POCO: sharper panel and AMOLED

POCO lists a 6.67-inch AMOLED display at 2400 × 1080 resolution, with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Its higher listed resolution and AMOLED panel make it the specification-led choice for readers who prioritize detail and panel type.

Redmi: more screen area

Redmi’s 6.9-inch display is physically larger and also supports up to 120Hz, but its listed resolution is HD+. Choose it if screen size matters more to you than resolution. A 120Hz specification alone does not make the two displays equivalent in sharpness or panel technology.

Performance and storage: compare exact regional variants

The POCO global page lists the Dimensity 7025-Ultra, while Xiaomi India lists the T8300 5G SoC for Redmi. Both are specified as 6nm chips. The available information does not establish which phone is faster in real use; there are no comparative benchmark results here.

Memory configurations also differ by the pages’ regions. POCO’s global listings include configurations up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage; Xiaomi India lists Redmi variants up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Those are published options, not a guarantee that every configuration is sold in every country. Confirm the exact variant offered by the seller, especially if you need a particular amount of storage.

Camera hardware is not a photo-quality verdict

POCO specifies a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 2MP depth camera, and a 20MP front camera. Redmi lists a 32MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. These figures describe hardware, not how well either phone takes photos: megapixel counts alone do not establish image quality, and no head-to-head camera testing is available here.

Battery capacity versus charging speed

Redmi has the larger listed typical battery capacity at 6,300mAh, compared with POCO’s 5,110mAh. POCO, in turn, lists 45W turbo charging, while Redmi lists 15W charging and 7.5W wired reverse charging. These are rated capacities and charging powers, not measured battery runtimes or charge times. Your choice is between Redmi’s larger stated battery and POCO’s higher stated wired charging power; the specifications do not prove which lasts longer in everyday use.

Software support and expandable storage

Xiaomi India says Redmi A7 Pro 5G runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3.0 and will receive four years of Android updates and six years of security updates. The retrieved POCO global specification page names Xiaomi HyperOS but does not state a comparable update duration, so the available information does not support a like-for-like support-period comparison.

Redmi’s India specifications explicitly list microSD support up to 2TB and dual 5G SIM support. POCO lists a hybrid SIM/microSD tray. Check the local model’s tray arrangement and carrier bands if you need two SIMs, expandable storage, or compatibility with a specific network.

Price difference: why there is no reliable figure yet

A Xiaomi India catalog search result displayed ₹14,999 for the Redmi A7 Pro 5G. That is a time-sensitive catalog result, not a guaranteed checkout price. A matching current POCO M7 Pro 5G price was not verified, so calculating a price difference would be misleading.

For a useful comparison, check both phones in the same market at the same time and match RAM and storage as closely as possible. Compare the final prices after confirming seller, warranty, stock, and any bank or launch offer. Xiaomi’s catalog lists the non-5G Redmi A7 Pro separately, so verify that any listing is specifically for the 5G model.

Which phone should you choose?

Choose POCO M7 Pro 5G if

  • You prioritize a higher-resolution AMOLED display over a larger screen.
  • You want the listed 50MP main camera with OIS.
  • 45W rated wired charging matters more to you than Redmi’s larger stated battery capacity.
  • You have confirmed that the desired POCO memory configuration is available in your region.

Choose Redmi A7 Pro 5G if

  • You want a larger 6.9-inch display.
  • You prefer the higher listed battery capacity or want wired reverse charging.
  • You need microSD expansion, including the up-to-2TB support listed by Xiaomi India.
  • The published four-year Android and six-year security update commitment is important to you.

These recommendations follow the manufacturers’ published specifications, not independent comparative tests. The available evidence does not establish a universal winner for speed, camera quality, or battery life.
