The POCO M7 Pro 5G is the better fit if you want an AMOLED display, a lighter phone, optical image stabilization (OIS) on the main camera, and faster-rated charging. The Redmi 15 5G gives you a larger 6.9-inch display and a higher-rated 7000mAh battery. Neither set of specifications proves which phone performs better in everyday use. This comparison uses Xiaomi’s India Redmi 15 5G specifications and POCO’s global M7 Pro 5G specifications, so check your local model before buying.

Which phone has the better display?

Choose POCO for AMOLED

The POCO has a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a listed resolution of 2400 × 1080 and refresh rate up to 120Hz. Choose it if AMOLED is a priority; the specification alone does not establish how the screen compares in brightness, color accuracy, or outdoor visibility.

Choose Redmi for a larger, faster-refreshing screen

The Redmi’s 6.9-inch FHD+ display is larger and advertises a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz, compared with the POCO’s 120Hz. Whether that maximum is available in the apps and settings you use is not specified in the cited comparison. The trade-off is straightforward: larger screen and higher stated refresh ceiling on Redmi, AMOLED panel on POCO.

Performance: two different chipsets, no proven benchmark winner

The POCO uses the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7025-Ultra, listed at up to 2.5GHz; the Redmi uses the 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, listed at up to 2.3GHz. These are different chip families, and clock speed alone cannot establish which phone is faster. No comparable, sourced head-to-head benchmark for these exact models is available here, so choose based on other requirements rather than treating either processor label as a performance verdict.

Camera comparison: OIS and resolution are features, not photo verdicts

POCO lists a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 2MP depth camera, and a 20MP front camera. Redmi lists a 50MP main rear camera with an auxiliary lens and an 8MP front camera. OIS is a specific hardware feature on the POCO’s main camera; the listed megapixel counts do not, by themselves, show which phone produces better photos or selfies. Choose POCO if OIS or the higher listed selfie resolution matters to you, but do not infer overall image quality from those numbers alone.

Battery capacity, charging speed, and weight

Redmi lists a 7000mAh typical battery, while POCO lists 5110mAh typical. That gives Redmi the larger rated capacity, but it does not establish a particular runtime advantage: display settings, signal strength, apps, and other usage conditions affect battery life. POCO’s charging rating is higher at 45W versus Redmi’s 33W; wattage is not a direct measure of how long a full charge takes.

The POCO is listed at 190g and the Redmi at 217g, making the POCO 27g lighter according to the cited specifications. Xiaomi India lists a 33W adapter in the Redmi 15 5G box, and POCO’s global page lists a 45W charger. Package contents can differ by region, so verify the box for the exact product you are buying.

Durability and software support

The POCO specifications list Gorilla Glass 5 for the display. The Redmi specifications list IP64 dust and splash protection and warn against immersion. These are different kinds of claims: cover-glass material is not an ingress-protection rating, and IP64 does not mean the phone is waterproof or safe to submerge.

Xiaomi India specifies HyperOS 2 with Android 15 for Redmi 15 5G and states 2 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates. The cited POCO specifications page names Xiaomi HyperOS but does not state a comparable support duration. That absence is not evidence that the POCO receives no updates; it means the cited page does not establish an update commitment to compare.

Price difference in India: compare like-for-like listings

A Gadgets Now comparison listing retrieved in 2026 showed ₹14,999 for POCO M7 Pro and ₹21,499 for Xiaomi Redmi 15, a ₹6,500 difference in that observed snapshot (Gadgets Now comparison). These are comparison-site listing prices, not confirmed manufacturer prices or guaranteed current offers. Smartprix results showed a different range for POCO and also listed Redmi at ₹21,499, illustrating how prices can differ by page and variant (Smartprix 8GB/256GB comparison).

Use those figures only as dated India snapshots. Before deciding on value, compare current prices for the same RAM and storage tier, seller, and region; the listed configurations are not identical across the two cited specification pages.

Which one should you choose?

  • Choose POCO M7 Pro 5G if: you prioritize an AMOLED display, a lighter listed weight, OIS on the main camera, a higher-resolution listed selfie camera, or 45W-rated charging.
  • Choose Redmi 15 5G if: you prioritize a larger screen, a stated 144Hz maximum refresh rate, a larger 7000mAh typical battery, or the update commitment stated on Xiaomi India’s page.
  • Compare locally before paying: confirm the device is the 5G model, check the exact RAM and storage, network bands, NFC availability, charger in the box, and current seller price. The cited pages cover different regions, so they do not establish that every market offers the same configurations or package contents.
