On paper, the POCO M7 Plus 5G has the better screen and the bigger battery. The OPPO K14x 5G has faster listed charging and ColorOS. The price gap is the unsettled part. Two comparison sites show it going opposite ways, so check the same RAM and storage tier at checkout before you decide.

Display: the clearest gap
The POCO’s panel is bigger (6.9 vs 6.75 inches), sharper (FHD+ vs HD+) and has a higher refresh rate (144Hz vs 120Hz). Moving from 720p-class to 1080p-class resolution is the most visible difference between these two phones, especially for text, video and games. OPPO notes that the K14x’s refresh rate can vary by app and scenario, and that its brightness claims come from OPPO’s own labs.
Performance: Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 vs Dimensity 6300
Both are budget 5G chips. Listings put the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 in the POCO and the Dimensity 6300 in the OPPO. A single benchmark score does not decide real-world speed. Memory configuration, software tuning and heat management all matter. If you play demanding games for long sessions, look for sustained-load tests of both phones rather than relying on the chip names.

Battery and charging
The POCO lists 7000mAh against the OPPO’s 6500mAh. The two figures may not use the same convention. OPPO India gives 6500mAh as typical capacity and 6335mAh as rated capacity, and says real results depend on network configuration and other factors. The POCO source does not say which convention it uses, so treat the gap of about 500mAh as approximate.
OPPO’s 45W charging beats the POCO’s 33W on paper, which should shorten top-ups. Actual charge times need a controlled test, and no such test was found for this pairing.

OPPO’s own endurance figures, from its India launch announcement, are up to 20.9 hours of screen-off calling, 17.6 hours of YouTube playback and 16.1 hours of Google Maps navigation. It also claims up to 11 hours of MLBB, 10.5 of Free Fire, 9.4 of BGMI and 8.2 of PUBG. These are manufacturer figures and not a head-to-head comparison with the POCO.

Both phones list a 50MP main sensor. The POCO adds an 8MP selfie camera against the OPPO’s 5MP. OPPO’s launch material highlights AI imaging features, which it says may be absent at launch or vary by region and software version, and may need an account or internet connection. Image quality depends on sensor, lens and processing, not megapixels, so no winner can be named from specs.

Software and durability
Both run Android 15 out of the box, with ColorOS on the OPPO. 91mobiles lists two OS updates for each phone, with four years of security updates for the POCO and three for the OPPO. Confirm these with the manufacturers for the Indian SKU you are buying. IP64 dust and splash protection is listed for both. OPPO states it in its launch announcement. For the POCO it comes from a comparison site, so verify it before relying on it.

- 91mobiles: POCO M7 Plus ₹16,999, but marked out of stock. OPPO K14x ₹17,167 on Amazon. That makes the OPPO about ₹168 dearer.
- Smartprix (data stamped 15 September 2026): POCO ₹13,999, OPPO ₹18,499. That makes the OPPO ₹4,500 dearer.
The retailer, variant, discounts and stock status differ between these snapshots, so they cannot be merged. Both sites do point the same way: the OPPO was not cheaper than the POCO in either one. Before buying, compare identical RAM and storage, then account for bank and exchange offers and delivery.

- Choose the POCO M7 Plus if you watch a lot of video, read or game on the screen, and want the largest listed battery and the longest listed security support. It is also the better pick if its live price is lower.
- Choose the OPPO K14x if you want faster top-ups, prefer ColorOS, or find it at a clearly better deal for the configuration you want. The HD+ screen is the main compromise.
If the prices are close, the display difference makes the POCO the stronger spec-sheet choice. Only independent camera and sustained-performance tests could overturn that.
