For Playwright MCP, a full-page capture cannot be combined with a target element. The documentation also cautions: “Screenshots are for looking at, not for acting on — use browser_snapshot to get refs to interact with.” Use screenshots to inspect layout, charts, canvas content, or document a visual bug; use the structured snapshot to locate text and interact with controls.

- Choose Playwright MCP when you want an MCP-connected Playwright browser and need screenshot scope, formats, scaling, or inline output that are explicitly documented.
- Consider Browser Use when your priority is its hosted agent/browser workflow or its open-source Python library. Treat these as separate options and confirm the selected product’s screenshot API before building around it.
- Do not choose on assumed performance or cost. The official sources cited here do not provide a matched quantitative comparison of quality, speed, reliability, or price.
