The new PlayStation hardware with preorders live is the LISA Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller, a controller collaboration with BLACKPINK member LISA. PlayStation Direct’s U.S. store listed it for $84.00 on October 3, 2026; check the official listing for current price and availability.
What PlayStation announced
The headline refers to a LISA-themed DualSense controller, not a new PlayStation console. PlayStation’s peripherals archive lists a first-look post for the limited edition dated September 21, 2026, credited to Nancy Kim, Senior Director of Integrated Marketing, Special Projects, and Licensed Merchandise Retail Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment. The archive is not a detailed specification sheet.

Preorder price and reported release date
PlayStation Direct’s U.S. latest page showed the controller in its preorder section at $84.00 when checked on October 3, 2026. ScreenRant reported a price of $84.99 and an October 30, 2026 release date on October 2. Those price figures differ, and the PlayStation Direct page inspected confirmed preorder placement but did not show a release date. Use the official store listing for the current purchase amount and confirm launch timing there before ordering.
What is known about the controller
The available official listing and peripherals archive establish the product identity and preorder placement, but do not provide enough detail here to verify special features, compatibility wording, or how its design differs from a standard DualSense beyond its LISA-themed limited-edition treatment. No special performance upgrade should be assumed from the announcement.

ScreenRant attributes this comment to LISA: “Gaming is something I do whenever I have time to relax, so getting to create this collection with PlayStation was very exciting. I had a lot of fun adding in little details that I knew my fans would notice, and I wanted the fans to have something they can connect with. I’ve always loved expressing myself through music and fashion, so this collaboration gave me a new way to be creative and show a different side of myself. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.”
Don’t confuse it with PlayStation’s headset announcements
PlayStation also announced Pulse and Pulse Edge wireless headsets in a separate September 15, 2026 post. Those are distinct products: that post said Pulse was planned for select markets in the 2026 holiday season and Pulse Edge in early 2027, with preorder dates and prices still to come at the time. The current preorder headline is about the LISA controller, not either headset.
