The outlets disagree on the user’s handle—some identify them as “thisiserfan,” while another calls them “Angie”—so the identity is unresolved. The user had previously revealed God of War: Sons of Sparta before its announcement, but that past claim does not verify this one. Coverage includes IG News, AllKeyShop, and Tech4Gamers.

Which PlayStation franchises are mentioned?
Sly Cooper, Killzone, and Ape Escape are named in reports as franchises under consideration. Resistance and Infamous are also mentioned as possible candidates; separate coverage connects inFAMOUS and MotorStorm with external development teams. These mentions do not establish that each franchise has an approved project. One report says the leaker named franchises they knew about, which is not evidence that all of them are being developed.

How the reported arrangement could work
According to the accounts, Sony would fund and publish the games through PlayStation Studios, while an outside studio handled development. The PlayStation studio associated with a franchise would reportedly supervise the work. The explanation offered is that Sony’s internal studios are busy with other projects, making outside pitches a possible route for older series. These details are part of the rumor, not confirmed terms of a Sony policy.
Killzone has a separate development rumor
Killzone is also the subject of a distinct report. MP1st reportedly said in September 2026 that Guerrilla Games was working with an external studio on a Killzone project in very early production, described as a possible remaster or remake. People Can Fly was named as the likely outside developer. This is a second-hand report and should not be treated as confirmation of a project—or as proof that it is part of the rumored licensing initiative.
