PlatinumGames has confirmed new Bayonetta-branded content, but it has not announced a new Bayonetta game. The latest official news is a collaboration with Stellar Blade, due November 5, 2026. Separately, PlatinumGames CEO Atsushi Inaba has reportedly expressed interest in working with the partner again. That keeps the series in the conversation; it does not confirm Bayonetta 4 or a production commitment.
What PlatinumGames has actually announced
On September 30, 2026, PlatinumGames announced four Bayonetta-themed outfits for Shift Up’s Stellar Blade. The collaboration is scheduled for November 5, 2026, on PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, according to PlatinumGames’ announcement.

The news is an official sign that the Bayonetta brand remains active, but the announced content belongs to Stellar Blade. It is not a new standalone Bayonetta game, and the announcement does not say that one is in development.

Is Bayonetta 4 coming?
There is no Bayonetta 4 announcement in the latest official news. In September 2026 interview coverage, Shift Up CEO Kim Hyung Tae reportedly offered to work with PlatinumGames again, and Inaba expressed interest. An offer and an expression of interest are not a sequel announcement or confirmation that either company has begun producing another Bayonetta. GamesRadar’s interview report describes the exchange.
#1 Best Overall
- Witch fell her angel with her smile and beautiful black hair
- The Nintendo Switch is the origin of the action game series that works with the beautiful and brutal witch "Beyonetta"
- The thrill of throwing off your enemy attacks with a single sheet of paper, and the variety of combos will overwhelm your enemy. You can enjoy brilliant and extreme climax action with the angels of attacking
The distinction is clearer when the current collaboration is compared with the earlier continuation idea:
| Signal | Who and when | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Stellar Blade collaboration | PlatinumGames, September 30, 2026 | Confirmed Bayonetta-themed content for another game, with a stated release date and platforms. |
| Interest in collaborating again | Shift Up CEO Kim Hyung Tae and PlatinumGames CEO Atsushi Inaba, as reported in September 2026 | Reported willingness to work together; no confirmed sequel or production commitment. |
| Plan to continue after Bayonetta 3 | Former director Hideki Kamiya, speaking in 2025 about his own earlier intentions | A past creative plan, not confirmation of a current PlatinumGames project. |
What Hideki Kamiya said about continuing the series
In May 2025, Kamiya said he had not wanted to end the series with Bayonetta 3. He described plans for another chapter, potentially another trilogy, with a new story and a fresh approach to game design. He also made clear that he was no longer in a position to carry out that plan after leaving PlatinumGames.
“Unfortunately, I’m not in a position to do that anymore,” Kamiya said, referring to his plan to continue the series. His comments explain what he had hoped to make while at Platinum; they do not establish that PlatinumGames or another developer is now making it. A February 2025 Nintendo Life report described a video in which Kamiya appeared with Abebe Tinari, Yusuke Miyata, Takahisa Taura, Kenji Saito, and Masaki Yamanaka. The report said Tinari had confirmed his departure, while Miyata, Taura, and Saito were rumored to have left. It treated the video as an indication that the wider group had moved on, not as independent confirmation from PlatinumGames of every person’s status.
Rank #2
- Journey into the Avalon Forest as Cereza—a young Bayonetta—and her very first demon, Cheshire, to gain the power to save her mother
- Control both Cereza and Cheshire simultaneously and coordinate to solve puzzles and beat faeries
- Colorful environments look as if they were painted by hand, and fully narrated story scenes are told through the vibrantly illustrated pages of a storybook
That report is a dated snapshot, not a current staff directory. It supports saying that departures among prominent creators were reported, with different levels of confirmation; it does not support presenting every named departure as officially verified. Nintendo Life’s February 2025 coverage sets out those qualifications.

Koei Tecmo’s October 2025 financial-results presentation listed NINJA GAIDEN 4 as a co-development project involving PlatinumGames and Koei Tecmo. That shows Platinum had another announced project in its pipeline at the time, but it provides no information about Bayonetta’s production status. The presentation is available from Koei Tecmo Holdings.
PlatinumGames’ official catalog lists Bayonetta 3 and Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon as Nintendo Switch releases published by Nintendo. The catalog confirms the series’ existing games, not an unannounced next installment. See the studio’s company overview and Bayonetta game catalog.
