Both phones have a 6.3-inch screen and Google’s Tensor G5 processor, but the Pixel 10 Pro adds more RAM, a sharper LTPO display and higher-resolution cameras. On October 7, 2026, Google’s US pages showed the Pixel 10 at $649 on promotion from $799 and the Pixel 10 Pro at $849 from $999. Those displays suggest a $200 gap, but the Pixel 10 specifications page still listed its starting price as $799, so check the live price and compare the same storage tier before deciding.

What is the Pixel 10 price difference?
As of October 7, 2026, Google’s US Pixel 10 product page displayed a $649 promotional price, reduced from $799, with the offer stated to end October 11. Google’s Pixel 10 specifications page separately listed the phone from $799. The Pixel 10 Pro specification result displayed $849, reduced from $999. The displayed promotional prices imply a $200 difference, while the two reference prices also differ by $200; the conflicting Pixel 10 starting-price display means neither figure should be treated as a guaranteed checkout total.

What does the Pro add to the display?
Both phones are 6.3 inches, so choosing the Pro does not mean buying a larger screen. The difference is in the panel: Google lists a higher resolution for the Pro (1280 × 2856 versus 1080 × 2424), LTPO technology and a 1–120 Hz refresh range instead of 60–120 Hz. Google also lists peak brightness up to 3,300 nits for the Pro and up to 3,000 nits for the Pixel 10. Those brightness figures are published specifications, not measurements from a controlled comparison.
The Pro’s 1 Hz minimum refresh rate gives it a wider stated refresh range. The figures alone do not establish how noticeable the difference will be in a particular app or viewing condition; the practical value depends on how much you care about display detail and responsiveness.

How different are the cameras?
Rear cameras and zoom
Both models have a three-camera rear system, including a 5× telephoto camera. The Pro’s listed hardware has more megapixels across its wide, ultrawide and telephoto cameras: 50 MP, 48 MP and 48 MP, compared with 48 MP, 13 MP and 10.8 MP on the Pixel 10. Google lists Super Res Zoom up to 20× on the Pixel 10 and Pro Zoom up to 100× on the Pro.
A maximum zoom figure describes a stated range, not equal image quality at every magnification. The specifications do not establish how the phones’ photos compare in independent testing, so don’t treat the 100× ceiling as proof that every zoomed shot will be better.

Front camera
Google lists a 42 MP dual-pixel autofocus front camera on the Pro and a 10.5 MP dual-pixel autofocus front camera on the Pixel 10. The higher megapixel count is a hardware difference; it does not, by itself, guarantee better selfies.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does the Pro have faster performance or longer battery life?
Both phones use Google’s Tensor G5. The Pro has 16 GB of RAM, compared with 12 GB in the Pixel 10, but the published specifications do not establish a measured speed advantage. The Pro’s extra RAM is a concrete difference; whether it makes a noticeable difference for your workload is not established by these figures.
Google lists typical battery capacities of 4,970 mAh for the Pixel 10 and 4,870 mAh for the Pro, and advertises 24+ hours for both. Capacity and manufacturer battery-life claims do not determine real-world endurance. No comparative battery test is established here, so the specifications do not show that the Pro lasts longer.

Both models support Qi2-certified Pixelsnap wireless charging up to 15 W. For the quoted wired charging claim, Google specifies a 30 W USB-C PPS charger or higher: up to 55% in about 30 minutes. The charger is sold separately. That rate is conditional on the stated charger setup, not a guarantee for every adapter or charging situation.
Which phone should you buy?
Choose the Pixel 10 if
- You want the Tensor G5 platform and a triple-camera system with a 5× telephoto camera, without paying for the Pro’s listed display and camera upgrades.
- The live price makes it the better value for your budget, especially after you compare the same storage capacity.
- You do not expect to make much use of the Pro’s higher-resolution LTPO panel, extra RAM or wider stated zoom range.
Choose the Pixel 10 Pro if
- You value its higher-resolution 1–120 Hz LTPO display.
- You want the Pro’s higher-resolution ultrawide and telephoto hardware, 42 MP front camera or stated zoom ceiling of 100×.
- The extra 4 GB of RAM matters to your priorities, while recognizing that the listed specifications do not quantify a speed gain.
The Pro’s case rests on features you will actually use, not a different processor or a larger screen. Whether those upgrades justify its premium depends on the live, like-for-like price and your display and camera priorities. This is a recommendation based on Google’s listed features and the dated US price displays, not a hands-on test. For Google’s cross-model specifications, see its Pixel phone comparison.
