Pinterest has named James Dibbo its next chief financial officer. The company announced the appointment on October 5, 2026; it takes effect October 26, when he will succeed Julia Brau Donnelly.
Who is Pinterest’s new CFO?
James Dibbo is a finance executive whose most recent role was vice president and CFO for Global Entertainment, Advertising and Corporate Development at Amazon, according to Pinterest’s October 5 announcement. At Amazon, he also served as CFO of Worldwide Consumer and CFO of North America Consumer.

Dibbo’s appointment becomes effective October 26, 2026. Donnelly’s service as CFO ends that day, and she will remain with Pinterest in an advisory role through October 30 to support the transition.

A separate August 28 Form 8-K disclosure said Donnelly submitted her resignation on August 26 to pursue another opportunity. That earlier filing named Vikram Naidu as interim Principal Financial Officer effective October 30, alongside his existing finance and business operations role. Pinterest’s later announcement sets out Dibbo’s CFO start date and Donnelly’s advisory handover; the earlier interim designation does not mean Dibbo had already taken office.

Dibbo will report to CEO Bill Ready and lead Pinterest’s global finance organization. The remit includes finance, accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), investor relations, treasury, tax, business and corporate development, internal audit, and workplace.
Ready described Dibbo as an “exceptional finance leader” in the company announcement. Dibbo said he admired Pinterest’s role at the intersection of visual search, shopping and advertising. These are statements from Pinterest’s CEO and incoming CFO, respectively, rather than independent assessments.

The announcement identifies Dibbo’s appointment, experience, reporting line and responsibilities. It does not say that the hire is tied to a particular financial result or strategic change, so no such connection can be drawn from the announcement alone. Pinterest’s investor-relations site lists the October 5 release among its recent press announcements.
