Specifications are from the respective manufacturers’ undated product pages, accessed in 2026: RISION Magic Pro, Teledyne FLIR ONE Pro and TOPDON TC001. The manufacturer terms “QuadIR” and “super resolution” describe processed output; they should not be read as native sensor resolution or assumed to mean the same processing method.

Check your phone and connector before comparing image specs
Compatibility can rule out a model before its thermal specifications matter. RISION lists USB-C and iOS, Android and Windows support; FLIR sells connector-specific variants for Android USB-C and Apple Lightning or USB-C; TOPDON lists Android phones and tablets plus Windows tablets. Those broad categories do not establish compatibility with every device in them.

Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Confirm the exact phone or tablet model and operating-system version against the manufacturer’s current compatibility information.
- Check the physical connector and whether the product variant matches it. Do not assume an adapter will preserve compatibility.
- Verify that the required app is available for your device and supports the features you intend to use.
- For RISION, confirm that the listed USB-C attachment and app support apply to your particular iOS or Windows setup; the product-page summary does not establish support for every connector configuration.
Native resolution and processed output are different claims
RISION states that Magic Pro has a native 256×192 sensor and produces 512×384 QuadIR output. FLIR lists a 160×120 native thermal resolution and 480×360 “super resolution.” TOPDON lists 256×192 resolution, but the cited page details do not establish whether that figure is native or processed.
#1 Best Overall
- COMPATIBILITY: Infrared camera plugs directly into phone charging port and connects with iphones with USB-C (iphone 15 and newer)
- SUPER RESOLUTION: Vivid IR technology upscales the image to 480x360 from 160x120 for greater detail and clarity. Flir MSX technology merges thermal and visual images to enhance details in real time.
- THERMAL INSPECTION GUIDES: Within the Flir One app is a step-by-step inspection guide to help you address typical faults easily and perform accurate home inspections. Find air leaks, moisture buildup, and more
- ACCURACY: Measures temperature within ±3°C or ±5% when the unit is within 15 °C – 35 °C and the scene is within 5 °C – 120 °C
- JOBSITE TOUGH: Built to take the abuse that working on a jobsite dishes out every day, rated to take a drop from 1.5 meters and is built to last
A larger output image is not, by itself, evidence of a larger native sensor or of greater measured detail. Because the manufacturers use different terms and no matched independent image-quality test is established here, these figures are useful for understanding each vendor’s stated output—not for declaring one camera’s image superior.
Refresh rate and sensitivity may shape the viewing experience
RISION lists a 25 Hz refresh rate and sensitivity of ≤40 mK; FLIR lists 8.7 Hz and 70 mK. TOPDON’s cited TC001 product details do not state a frame rate or sensitivity, so neither should be inferred from another TOPDON model.
Rank #2
- COMPATIBILITY: Infrared camera plugs directly into phone charging port and connects with all USB-C Android devices including Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel and more
- SUPER RESOLUTION: Vivid IR technology upscales the image to 480x360 from 160x120 for greater detail and clarity.

These are manufacturer-reported specifications, not a common test of how the devices behave in the same scene. The figures alone cannot establish which will be easier to use for a particular inspection, especially when the missing TOPDON values prevent a complete comparison.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTemperature range is not the same as accuracy
The published measurement ranges differ: Magic Pro is listed at -20°C to 600°C, FLIR ONE Pro at -20°C to 120°C and 0°C to 400°C, and TC001 at -20°C to 550°C. FLIR’s two stated ranges are distinct; its product information does not support treating them as one continuous range.

- COMPATIBILITY: Wireless infrared cameras compatible with all Android or iOS devices using Bluetooth connection
- SUPER RESOLUTION: Vivid IR technology upscales the image to 480x360 from 160x120 for greater detail and clarity. Flir MSX technology merges thermal and visual images to enhance details in real time.
- WIRELESS: Flir Edge Pro connects to phones or tablets wirelessly so you can see in tight spaces or around corners
- ACCURACY: Measures temperature within ±3°C or ±5% when the unit is within 15 °C – 35 °C and the scene is within 5 °C – 120 °C
- Flir IGNITE CLOUD: Directly upload, organize, and share images from your Wi-Fi connected Flir camera
RISION states accuracy of ±2°C or ±2% of the reading. FLIR states typical accuracy of ±3°C or ±5%, subject to startup, device-temperature and scene-temperature conditions. TOPDON’s cited page gives a temperature range but no comparable accuracy condition. These claims are not directly interchangeable, and the range endpoint alone does not tell you how reliably a camera measures a particular surface or scene.
Power design affects how long you can inspect
RISION Magic Pro
RISION describes Magic Pro as battery-free and powered by the connected phone. That avoids charging a separate camera battery, but the cited product information does not quantify the resulting phone-battery drain.
Rank #4
- COMPATIBILITY: Infrared camera plugs directly into phone charging port and connects with iphones with lightning port (iphone 14 and older)
- JOBSITE TOUGH: Built to take the abuse that working on a jobsite dishes out every day, rated to take a drop from 1.5 meters and is built to last
FLIR ONE Pro
FLIR lists a separate battery and approximately one hour of battery life. The published figure gives a useful planning reference, but does not specify usage conditions in the cited material.
TOPDON TC001
TOPDON says TC001 draws 0.35 W from its host device. As with a phone-powered attachment, this means the connected device supplies power; TOPDON’s cited page does not translate that draw into a specific reduction in phone runtime.

Choose by the job, then verify the app workflow
- Consider Magic Pro if its listed USB-C compatibility fits your device, you want a battery-free attachment, and its stated 25 Hz refresh rate or higher claimed temperature ceiling suits your needs. Treat QuadIR output and app features as manufacturer claims.
- Consider FLIR ONE Pro if a connector-specific version is available for your phone and its separate battery, stated measurement ranges and FLIR app workflow fit your use. Check the exact Lightning or USB-C model before buying.
- Consider TC001 if you use a supported Android phone/tablet or Windows tablet, want the listed 256×192 resolution and temperature range, and are comfortable with its host-powered design. The cited product page does not establish frame rate or a comparable accuracy claim.
RISION highlights image fusion and app workflows for reports and cloud sync. Those are vendor-described capabilities; confirm what the current app supports on your device and whether any workflow depends on account access or connectivity. The cited product information does not support a full feature-by-feature comparison of all three apps.
What these specifications can—and cannot—tell you
The published numbers help narrow choices by connector, native-versus-processed resolution claims, stated refresh rate, temperature range and power arrangement. They do not establish comparative image quality, measurement accuracy under identical conditions, app reliability or suitability for a particular inspection. No controlled side-by-side results are established for these three models, so a spec-based comparison cannot justify naming a universal winner.
