How to Troubleshoot a Mammotion LUBA 3 That Won’t Connect, Map, or Start Mowing

If your Mammotion LUBA 3 won’t connect, map, or start mowing, work through the problem in this order: identify whether Bluetooth or Wi-Fi is failing, check Wi-Fi separately, verify the RTK station and positioning, review the map and task, then check firmware. Leave factory reset until last: Mammotion warns that it erases the map.

First, identify what “won’t connect” means

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi do different jobs on the LUBA 3. Mammotion says both are required for initial setup and firmware updates. Bluetooth can support mapping and some local controls without Wi-Fi, while Wi-Fi enables remote status monitoring and remote job control. See Mammotion’s Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection guidance.

  • Phone cannot connect locally: Check that Bluetooth is enabled, the app has Bluetooth permission, and your phone is close to the mower. The cited Mammotion guidance does not provide a model-specific permission checklist, so the exact permission steps depend on your phone.
  • LUBA 3 won’t connect to Wi-Fi: Troubleshoot the router connection separately; Bluetooth pairing does not establish Wi-Fi access.
  • Remote status or job control is unavailable: Check Wi-Fi, even if local Bluetooth controls still work.

If LUBA 3 won’t connect to Wi-Fi

Mammotion says LUBA supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Check the network band, then bring the mower closer to the router and reduce obstacles between them. A phone hotspot is a useful isolation test: if the mower connects to the hotspot but not the home network, focus on the router or its settings. See Mammotion’s Wi-Fi troubleshooting steps.

  1. Confirm the network you are trying to join is 2.4 GHz.
  2. Move the mower near the router, especially when connecting for a firmware update.
  3. Try connecting to a phone hotspot to distinguish a home-network issue from a mower-side problem.
  4. If both the hotspot and home Wi-Fi fail, power the mower off, unplug the rear “Key,” reseat it, and power the mower on again. Mammotion uses the term “Key”; do not assume a different component is meant.

If LUBA 3 won’t map or the map disappeared

Choose the mapping mode for your lawn

Mammotion recommends manual mapping for complex environments. Its automatic mapping guidance is for neat, level lawns with clear boundaries and grass shorter than 10 cm (4 in); Mammotion’s support article does not state a publication year for this figure. See the LUBA 3 first-mapping instructions.

Complete a manual map loop

When mapping manually, Mammotion recommends keeping the mower about 1.5 meters from the actual lawn boundary and closing the loop with overlapping endpoints. If the mower cannot complete the map or the result is poor near a wall, tree, or other obstacle, inspect that boundary and adjust it to keep the mower clear.

Edit a boundary if the map needs correction

From the map page, select Map Editing. Mammotion documents different boundary-adjustment labels for iOS and Android in its map-editing instructions. Follow the steps for your phone’s platform rather than assuming the controls are identical.

If LUBA 3 shows poor positioning or won’t start mowing

Poor positioning can come from the mower’s surroundings or from the RTK reference station. Check both before changing the map or resetting the mower.

Check the RTK station

  • Confirm the station has power and its power connections are secure.
  • Check that it is installed with an open view of the sky.
  • Look for a solid green LED, as Mammotion specifies in its poor-positioning guidance.

Inspect where the mower stops

Look for obstructions around the stopping point, including walls, trees, or other objects that may interfere with positioning. If the map boundary brings the mower too close to an obstruction, edit the boundary to keep it clear. If the task still stops or will not start because of poor positioning, Mammotion requests a video of the area around the stopping point, an app screenshot showing POS information, and app log-feedback.

Check installed firmware before escalating

Check the mower’s installed firmware in the app and compare it with Mammotion’s LUBA 3 firmware release log. The release log lists version 2.3.27.23 dated 2026-07-18 and says it fixed device-positioning failures, occasional missing maps, and incorrect RTK movement reports. The same log includes earlier fixes related to network stability and unexpected stops. Release notes are dated, and your mower may have a different installed version; do not assume a listed version is the current one without checking the live log and the app.

Use factory reset only as a last resort

Mammotion’s reset guidance is for a powered-on mower that cannot connect over either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Reset erases the map, so do not use it as an early connection test if you want to preserve your existing map. If those connection failures match your situation and you accept the map loss, follow Mammotion’s official LUBA 3 reset instructions. For unresolved positioning or mowing problems, send log-feedback through the app and include the stopping-point video and POS screenshot Mammotion requests.
