Yes—Phone Link supports Windows 11, but that does not guarantee every feature will work on every phone or network. Microsoft lists Android 10 or later as supported; reliability also depends on app versions, account setup, permissions, power settings, and whether the devices can communicate. If yours will not connect or sync, start with updates, account and Wi-Fi checks, then investigate power management before unlinking or resetting.
What Phone Link supports in Windows 11
Microsoft’s Phone Link requirements list Windows 11 as supported and Android 10 or later for Android phones. Microsoft recommends using the latest Windows version for the best experience. Meeting those requirements means the setup is supported; it does not mean every feature is available or trouble-free on every device.

Some limits are specific to features rather than evidence that the PC is broken. Microsoft notes that some Android apps may not work, and that the Android apps feature does not support multiple Android profiles or work/school accounts. Notification behavior and launching apps from the taskbar can also differ from what users expect. See Microsoft’s Android apps troubleshooting guidance for those limitations.

If your Android phone will not connect or its content will not sync with a Windows 11 PC, work through these steps in order. They begin with checks that are quick and unlikely to disrupt the existing pairing.

- Update both apps. Install available updates for Phone Link on the PC and Link to Windows on the phone, then close and reopen both. Microsoft’s update instructions explain where to check.
- Check the account and connection. Make sure both devices are on, signed in to the same Microsoft account, and connected to the same suitable Wi-Fi network. Microsoft recommends the same trusted Wi-Fi network for the most reliable connection. Its connection troubleshooting steps cover common causes.
- Look for network restrictions. A VPN, firewall, public or workplace network restrictions, or router wireless/AP isolation can prevent the devices from communicating. Temporarily check whether one of these is involved. If the PC or network is managed by an employer or school, ask its administrator before changing settings.
- Check power management. Turn off battery saver on both devices while diagnosing. If the problem continues, check Android battery optimization for Link to Windows and allow the app to run without optimization. Battery-saving settings can interrupt connectivity.
- Unlink and pair again only if needed. If the earlier checks do not help, use Microsoft’s unlinking and re-pairing instructions. This removes the existing connection and requires setup again.
- Reset the apps as a later step. For persistent connection problems, follow Microsoft’s reset instructions. Resetting disrupts the current pairing, so expect to set it up again.
How to tell a feature limit from a connection problem
If Phone Link connects but one app, notification, or launch behavior is missing, check whether that particular feature is supported before resetting the whole link. Microsoft documents app and profile restrictions in its Android apps guidance. If the phone will not connect at all or content stops syncing, focus first on updates, account sign-in, Wi-Fi, network restrictions, and battery settings; Microsoft addresses those symptoms in its connection troubleshooting page.

“It doesn’t work” is not enough to identify a cause. When seeking support, note the phone model and Android version, Windows version, which Phone Link feature is failing, what happens instead, and any exact error message. Those details help distinguish a compatibility limit from an account, network, permission, or power-management issue.

Microsoft’s support material describes requirements and troubleshooting steps, but does not establish a universal reliability rate. Whether a particular setup works correctly depends on its devices, feature, configuration, and network.
