Philips lists some rechargeable trimmers that use micro-USB, so check the exact model number and regional product page before buying. Then compare charge time, cordless runtime, trimming range, wet-or-dry use, and local availability.
Does a Philips trimmer use USB-C?
Not necessarily. Philips uses “USB charging” to describe some products without that wording confirming a USB-C port. For example, Philips says the UK-market QT3310/13 is charged with a micro-USB cable, and its India-market BT1215/15 page also specifies micro-USB. Check the product page or manual for the precise model and market; do not infer the connector from “USB charging” or a series name.

How the documented Philips models compare
| Model and market | Connector or charging | Charge time and runtime | Trimming and use | Availability note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beardtrimmer Series 1000 BT1216/15 (UK) | Philips describes USB charging; the page does not establish USB-C. | Up to 60 minutes of cordless use after an 8-hour charge, according to Philips. | Self-sharpening stainless-steel blades; combs for 1–7 mm; dry use only. | Philips marks the product discontinued on its UK page. Current availability may vary by country. Philips BT1216/15 product page. |
| Beardtrimmer Series 3000 QT3310/13 (UK) | Micro-USB cable, specified by Philips. | 8 hours for a full charge; up to 30 minutes of cordless use. | 10 settings from 0.5 to 10 mm; dry use only. | Check local stock and the current product page. Philips QT3310/13 product page. |
| Beardtrimmer Series 1000 BT1215/15 (India) | Micro-USB cable, specified by Philips. | Up to 60 minutes of runtime; the cited product page does not state a charge time. | Not stated on the cited product page. | Model suffixes and catalogs differ by market. Philips BT1215/15 product page. |
These are examples, not a complete specification for every Philips trimmer. Philips comparison pages show that precision and runtime vary across models, so verify the exact model rather than treating a series label as a specification: Philips UK beard-trimmer comparison and Philips India beard-trimmer comparison.

What to compare before choosing a rechargeable trimmer
- Connector: Look for “USB-C” explicitly in the official specifications or manual. “USB” by itself is not enough.
- Charging details: Check full-charge time, charging method, whether an adapter is included, and the instructions for that model.
- Runtime: Treat runtime as a manufacturer-stated maximum, not a guarantee for every use. Compare figures only when the stated charging conditions and model are clear.
- Trimming range: Match the length range and increments to the cut you want, and check which combs are included. For instance, the BT1216/15 is documented with 1–7 mm combs, while the QT3310/13 offers 10 settings from 0.5 to 10 mm.
- Use and care: Confirm whether the trimmer is dry-only or suitable for wet use, and follow the model’s cleaning instructions.
- Availability: Check current local stock and the status of the exact regional model. A product listed as discontinued in one market may not reflect availability elsewhere.
Charging safely with a USB adapter
Philips support says some products use USB cables and advises using an adapter output of 5 V and 1 A or higher. Follow the instructions for your specific trimmer and cable; adapter guidance does not change the connector type. Philips support: how to charge a Philips groomer.

If USB-C is a firm requirement, buy only a model whose manufacturer documentation names USB-C for the exact regional variant. The Philips examples above document micro-USB or USB charging without confirming USB-C; they do not establish that every Philips trimmer has the same connector, or that Philips sells a USB-C beard trimmer in every market. If USB-C is not essential, compare the documented trimming range, runtime, charging time, and use restrictions against your needs.
