That headline capacity comes from a hot, very humid test—not a typical-room promise. Public information establishes its specifications and Philips’ test claims, but does not reveal the independent CHOICE test scores needed to judge its real-world extraction, efficiency or noise against other models.
What the DE3306/71 offers
Philips identifies the DE3306/71 as a refrigeration (compressor) dehumidifier. Its specification sheet lists R290 refrigerant and a compact upright body measuring 34.9 × 26.8 × 58.8 cm. It weighs 13.8 kg, has castors for moving it between rooms and a 1.8 m power cord.

These figures are from Philips’ DE3306/71 specification sheet, version 3.3.0, published 27 January 2025. They describe listed specifications, not independently verified performance measurements.
How to interpret the 34.3 L/day capacity claim
Philips claims maximum extraction of up to 34.3 L per day. The specification sheet says that rate was tested by a certified third party under GB/T 19411-2003 at 35°C and 90% relative humidity. Those are hot, highly humid conditions; the figure should not be read as the amount this model will collect in an ordinary home each day. Extraction changes with temperature, humidity, ventilation, moisture entering the space and operating settings.

Philips also lists a maximum room size of 150 m³. This is a calculation under JEM1411:1998 assumptions using a 2.5 m ceiling, not a guarantee that the unit will control moisture equally well in every room of that volume. The amount and sources of moisture matter as well as room dimensions.
The product materials also make a quick humidity-change claim, but the detailed specification note ties that result to a 20 m³ room starting at 60% relative humidity and 27°C. Philips cautions that ventilation, moisture release or absorption, and temperature changes affect the outcome. It is therefore a specific test scenario, not a universal time-to-target estimate. Can it dry laundry indoors?
The dedicated Laundry mode is intended to speed indoor clothes drying. Philips says its test dried 20 synthetic T-shirts in under two hours. That result is Philips’ test claim for that stated load; it does not establish the drying time for different fabrics, a larger load or a different room. Laundry drying also adds moisture to the room, so the dehumidifier’s ability to remove it depends on the surrounding conditions.
Tank emptying and continuous drainage
The 4 L tank collects water until the unit signals that it is full and shuts off automatically. How often it needs emptying cannot be estimated reliably from the available specifications: the interval depends on how much moisture the unit extracts, which varies with the conditions and use. Philips lists a drainage hose as included, so continuous drainage is an option for a suitable setup rather than relying only on the tank. Check the manual for installation and placement requirements before routing the hose.

Is it noisy enough for a bedroom?
Philips lists a sound range of 45–51 dB(A), but that is a manufacturer specification, not a public independent noise test. CHOICE lists the exact model but keeps its measured noise result behind membership access. Public owner comments describe sound subjectively and are mixed; they cannot establish how audible the unit will be in a particular bedroom. If quiet operation is a priority, consider where it will sit and whether its sound range is acceptable to you rather than assuming it will be unobtrusive.

Its public listing gives a claimed removal rate of 34.3 L/day, an operating range of 5–35°C, a rounded weight of 14 kg and a two-year warranty. Philips’ Australia page displays a 4.6/5 score from 14 reviews in the surfaced listing. Owner comments mention laundry drying, moisture reduction, controls and sound, but customer experiences are anecdotes rather than controlled performance tests; both the rating and review count can change. They should not be treated as independent confirmation of the advertised capacity.
Aroma dispenser and pads
The unit has an aroma dispenser that accepts pads. Philips lists three pads in the box and FY5100 as a related accessory; Philips support lists FY5100/00 original aroma pads for the DE3306 family. These are optional fragrance accessories, not required for dehumidification. Who should consider it—and what to compare
The DE3306/71 is worth considering if its combination of a large listed maximum capacity, laundry mode, included hose and movable design fits your needs.
