You also need DirectX 12 and an SSD. The Steam listing describes that tier as a 1080p, 30-fps target with upscaling enabled. Its recommended specification keeps 16 GB of RAM but moves to a Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X and an RTX 3060 Ti 8GB or Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB, targeting 1440p at 60 fps with upscaling enabled.
Those figures are storefront targets, not independent benchmark results or guarantees. The listings do not state a graphics preset, native-resolution performance, or which upscaling technology is used.

The detailed requirements below come from the official Steam listing. The Epic Games Store shows the same operating-system, processor, memory, graphics and DirectX tiers. Steam additionally states the performance targets and the SSD requirement.

Steam identifies these as the requirements for the PC edition and was displaying them when checked on October 13, 2026. “Minimum” should not be read as an entry-level or office-PC specification: an i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600 and a GTX 1660-class card are the stated floor.

What the minimum specification is designed to deliver
The minimum tier is associated with 1080p output at 30 frames per second, with upscaling turned on. That is the store’s stated target, not a measured benchmark under a named graphics preset. It does not establish how the game performs at native 1080p, nor does it promise that every system using one of the listed parts will hold 30 fps in every scene.
The two processor options are alternatives, not components that must be installed together. The same applies to the two graphics cards. You need one qualifying CPU and one qualifying GPU, plus the operating system, memory, DirectX 12 support and SSD installation specified by the listing.
Why the minimum GPU still matters
The GTX 1660 is listed with 6 GB of video memory, while the RX 5500 XT option is listed with 8 GB. Video-memory capacity is part of the published model description, but the listing does not provide a separate VRAM minimum or explain how texture settings behave below those cards. A card with a different model name cannot be judged safely from a number alone; compare its actual performance, VRAM and DirectX 12 support before treating it as an equivalent.
What changes at the recommended tier
The recommended list raises the processor to a Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X and the graphics card to an RTX 3060 Ti 8GB or RX 6700 XT 12GB. Memory remains 16 GB, and Windows 10/11 64-bit, DirectX 12 and an SSD remain required.

Steam associates this tier with 1440p at 60 fps with upscaling enabled. As with the minimum target, that is a published goal rather than a laboratory result. No graphics preset, frame-time data, native-resolution result or guarantee for a particular laptop implementation is supplied.
Recommended does not mean ray tracing is required
S-GAME’s June 2, 2026 release update says the team made additional efforts to preserve visual impact without relying on ray tracing. That statement does not make ray tracing a requirement and does not define a separate ray-tracing or path-tracing specification. The official requirements publish only the two tiers shown above.
Can your PC run Phantom Blade Zero?
Use your computer’s actual hardware and compare it with every part of the minimum list. A single strong component does not compensate automatically for a weak one, and model-number comparisons across different generations are not established by the store page.

- Check Windows. Open Settings > System > About and confirm that the edition is Windows 10 or Windows 11 and that the system type is 64-bit. A 32-bit installation does not satisfy the published requirement.
- Check the processor. In the same About page, note the exact CPU model. You can also press
Ctrl+Shift+Esc, open Task Manager > Performance > CPU, and record the model shown there. Compare it with the i7-8700K/Ryzen 5 3600 minimum pair or the i5-10600K/Ryzen 5 5600X recommended pair. - Check memory. In Task Manager > Performance > Memory, verify that installed RAM is at least 16 GB. The requirement does not distinguish DDR4 from DDR5 or specify a memory speed.
- Check the graphics card and VRAM. Open Task Manager > Performance > GPU to see the discrete GPU model and dedicated memory. For more detail, run
dxdiagfrom the Start menu and inspect the Display tab. The minimum named GPUs are a GTX 1660 6GB or RX 5500 XT 8GB; the recommended named GPUs are an RTX 3060 Ti 8GB or RX 6700 XT 12GB. - Confirm DirectX 12 support. In
dxdiag, check the DirectX version shown on the System tab and the driver information on the Display tab. The game lists DirectX 12 for both tiers. - Confirm the installation drive. In File Explorer, right-click the drive where you plan to install the game and choose Properties. It must be an SSD. Steam does not state the required free-space amount, SSD capacity, form factor or interface.
If your computer falls between the two tiers, the listing does not provide an intermediate target. Treat the minimum as the only published baseline and avoid assuming that a part slightly below a named model will deliver the same result.

SSD requirement: what is known and what is not
Steam explicitly says, “SSD installation required.” That means the game should be installed on solid-state storage rather than a mechanical hard drive. The requirement applies to both minimum and recommended configurations.
The official listings do not state how much free space the installation needs. They also do not identify SATA versus NVMe, a minimum SSD capacity, a required sequential speed or whether an external SSD is supported. Check your motherboard, laptop or enclosure for interface compatibility before buying storage. If you already have a compatible SSD with enough free space for the eventual installation, the published requirements do not indicate that you need another drive.
Understanding upscaling in the listed targets
Both performance targets explicitly depend on upscaling: 1080p/30 fps at minimum and 1440p/60 fps at recommended. Upscaling renders part of the image at a lower internal resolution and reconstructs it for the selected output resolution. The listing does not name the technology, quality mode or internal resolution.

Consequently, you should not convert the store targets into native-resolution promises. A system that reaches the stated target with upscaling enabled may produce a different result when upscaling is disabled. The final outcome can also vary with the game’s graphics settings, drivers, background workloads, cooling and the exact laptop power limit.

CPU and GPU comparisons that need caution
Processor and graphics-card families have changed over time, so a newer-looking model number is not automatically faster in the way this game requires. The official list does not publish benchmark scores or equivalency tables. Compare your specific part against the named models using independent, controlled testing if you need an upgrade decision; do not infer equivalence from release year alone.
Laptop versions deserve extra caution. A mobile GPU can share a desktop product name while using different power limits and performance characteristics. The official listing does not provide laptop-specific requirements or results, so only the actual performance of your configuration can establish whether it is suitable.

The official storefront dates were not identical when checked on October 13, 2026. Steam displayed October 28, 2026, and the Epic Games Store displayed “Available 10/28/26.” S-GAME’s June 2 announcement said the global launch had moved from September 9 to October 29, 2026.
Because those official displays conflict, check the store page for your region and platform before planning an installation or preload. The available information does not establish a universal local unlock time.

Information the official listings do not provide
Several practical details remain unstated:
- Required download size and minimum free space.
- SSD capacity, form factor and interface.
- A separate ray-tracing or path-tracing tier.
- Native-resolution performance targets.
- The graphics preset used for the 1080p and 1440p targets.
- The name and quality setting of the upscaling technology.
- Test results for particular laptop GPUs.
- Steam Deck compatibility.
Do not treat any of these as implied by the CPU, GPU or RAM table. Wait for a later official specification if one of them determines whether your machine is suitable.
Should you upgrade before release?
Start by identifying the component that actually misses the minimum tier. If Windows is 32-bit, the operating-system installation must change; adding RAM will not fix that. If you have less than 16 GB of memory, a memory upgrade may address that one requirement, but it will not compensate for an underpowered CPU or GPU. If your system uses only a hard drive, an SSD installation is mandatory regardless of graphics performance.
For a graphics or processor upgrade, compare your case space, power supply, cooling, motherboard socket and available connectors before purchasing anything. The published requirements alone do not justify replacing a CPU or graphics card when your current parts already meet a tier. They also do not provide enough information to promise a specific result from a part that sits just below a named model.

Plan around the complete minimum rather than one headline component: 64-bit Windows 10/11, an i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600-class processor, 16 GB RAM, a GTX 1660 6GB or RX 5500 XT 8GB-class GPU, DirectX 12 and an SSD. The recommended 1440p/60-fps target requires the stronger i5-10600K/Ryzen 5 5600X and RTX 3060 Ti/RX 6700 XT graphics tier, while still relying on upscaling. Treat both frame-rate figures as store targets, and verify the current regional release date and later storage details before installing.
