Phantom Blade Zero is officially listed for both Windows PC and PlayStation 5, but there is no reliable PC-versus-PS5 performance comparison yet. As of October 13, 2026, the game has not launched. S-GAME has published PC hardware targets, while PlayStation has documented PS5 controller, audio and play features. Those facts can help you decide which platform fits your setup; they do not show which version runs faster or looks better.
What the PC-versus-PS5 comparison can tell you now
The practical choice is between a PC configuration that meets S-GAME’s published Windows requirements and the PS5 version with its documented DualSense and audio features. The PC requirements describe developer targets that use upscaling; they are not independent performance tests. The PS5 product page describes supported features, not a benchmark against PC.

That distinction matters because the game is still unreleased on the date of this article. There are no launch-version frame-rate measurements, image-quality comparisons, load-time tests or stability results to report. If you are choosing a platform now, use the published requirements and features below, rather than treating either platform as the confirmed performance winner.
In other words, the evidence supports a comparison of what S-GAME has specified for Windows and what PlayStation has listed for PS5—not a winner. A PC buyer can check named components against the developer’s tiers. A console buyer can consider the listed controller, audio and play features. Neither set of information tells you how the finished versions compare in motion.

When Phantom Blade Zero releases
The official S-GAME site lists October 29, 2026. The PlayStation Blog also gives October 29, while its August deep dive says October 28 in the United States and select regions. Steam lists October 28, 2026. These dates are presented by official sources for their respective storefronts or regions; they do not, by themselves, establish a delay or conflicting launch schedule. Check the listing for your country and platform close to release. S-GAME’s official site, the PlayStation Blog deep dive and the Steam listing provide the platform-specific announcements.
S-GAME founder and CEO Soulframe Liang’s August 11 PlayStation Blog post says, “Until then, Phantom Blade Zero launches on October 29, 2026, and is available to pre-order now on PlayStation 5.” Steam’s October 28 listing and the PlayStation Blog’s reference to October 28 for the US and select regions are consistent with checking the local storefront rather than assuming one displayed date applies everywhere. The important limit for a platform comparison is that the differing calendar date does not provide evidence of a staggered PC launch or a delay.
PC requirements: the published hardware targets
S-GAME published its Windows PC requirements on August 12, 2026. Minimum and recommended tiers both call for 16 GB of memory, a solid-state drive, DirectX 12 and 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. The developer also specifies upscaling for each stated resolution and frame-rate target. These are developer-provided requirements, not results from independent testing. The complete figures are in S-GAME’s PC system requirements announcement.
Recommended Free Tools
| Target | Processor | Graphics card | Memory and system | Developer-stated target |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB | 16 GB memory; SSD; DirectX 12; Windows 10/11 64-bit | 1080p at 30 FPS, with upscaling enabled |
| Recommended | Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB | 16 GB memory; SSD; DirectX 12; Windows 10/11 64-bit | 1440p at 60 FPS, with upscaling enabled |
| Ray tracing recommended | Not stated | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB | Not stated for this tier; see the shared requirements above | 1080p at 60 FPS, with upscaling enabled |
| Path tracing recommended | Not stated | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16GB | Not stated for this tier; see the shared requirements above | 2160p at 60 FPS, with upscaling enabled |
The CPU and common system requirements are listed for minimum and recommended tiers; the requirements announcement’s ray-tracing and path-tracing entries name a GPU and target but do not give separate processor or memory requirements. The table therefore does not imply those tiers need less memory or a different operating system.
How to check whether your PC is near the target
- Check your operating system and memory. The published minimum and recommended configurations both specify 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and 16 GB of memory.
- Identify your processor and graphics card. Compare their exact model names to the corresponding row. A similar name is not a guarantee of equivalent performance, and the published list does not provide a conversion rule for other hardware.
- Confirm you have an SSD and DirectX 12. S-GAME lists an SSD as required and DirectX 12 for the minimum and recommended targets.
- Choose the target that matches your expectations. The stated baseline is 1080p/30 FPS at minimum, while the recommended tier targets 1440p/60 FPS. Both targets explicitly use upscaling.
- Wait for testing if you need a firm performance prediction. The requirements do not specify graphics presets, exact upscaling technology or settings, nor do they establish performance for hardware combinations not listed.
An RTX 3060 Ti with 8GB is one named example in the recommended tier, not a mandatory purchase and not a guarantee of a particular result on every setting. The same caution applies to the other named GPUs: the developer target is conditional on upscaling, and no comparison with PS5 is supplied.
Upscaling is a key qualifier in every listed target, including the ray-tracing and path-tracing entries. The announcement does not say what internal rendering resolution, image-quality mode or graphics preset accompanies those numbers. So “1440p at 60 FPS” should be read as S-GAME’s recommended target with upscaling enabled, not proof of native 1440p rendering or a promise that every setting will reach 60 FPS on every machine using the named card.
The higher-end entries are also specific recommendations, not prerequisites for playing the game. S-GAME names an RTX 5060 8GB for its 1080p/60 FPS ray-tracing target and an RTX 5080 16GB for 2160p/60 FPS with path tracing. The published list does not establish how those modes compare with PS5’s image quality, nor whether a different GPU will perform similarly. Avoid buying hardware solely on the assumption that these targets are measured guarantees.

What is documented for the PS5 version
PlayStation lists Phantom Blade Zero for PS5 and advertises DualSense vibration and trigger effects, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and Tempest 3D AudioTech. Its product page says 3D audio can be used through the TV’s built-in speakers or analogue/USB stereo headphones after setup. It also lists volume controls, advanced subtitles, basic adjustable difficulty, control and tutorial reminders, manual saving, and the ability to pause during offline play. These are documented PS5 features, not evidence that the console version is faster or has better visuals. See the official PlayStation product page for the current feature listing.

What those PS5 features mean for play
- Controller feedback: Adaptive triggers, vibration and haptic feedback are listed as supported. They may matter if you want the game’s documented controller effects, but the listing does not establish whether PC supports equivalent features.
- 3D audio options: The stated routes include built-in TV speakers or analogue/USB stereo headphones with setup. The page does not promise a particular headset experience or say that extra audio equipment is required.
- Subtitles and controls: Advanced subtitles, volume controls, and control/tutorial reminders are listed. The page does not enumerate every subtitle adjustment or describe the full accessibility configuration, so do not assume unlisted options.
- Difficulty and saving: Adjustable difficulty is identified as basic, and manual saving is listed. The product page does not specify every save rule or how difficulty options affect individual encounters.
- Pausing: PlayStation specifically qualifies pausing as available during offline play. That qualification should not be dropped when describing the feature.
The DualSense wireless controller is the controller named in PlayStation’s feature listing, but that does not mean you need to buy an extra controller if you already own one for your PS5. The listing documents vibration and trigger effects, not a special accessory requirement. Likewise, the 3D-audio description gives setup-dependent listening routes rather than requiring a particular branded headset. If those features are important to you, check the product page and the final in-game settings for exactly what is available.
PC vs. PS5 at a glance
| Question | PC | PS5 |
|---|---|---|
| What is confirmed? | Windows system requirements and developer-stated, upscaled targets | Platform availability and listed DualSense, audio, subtitle, difficulty, saving and offline-pause features |
| What hardware information is published? | CPU, GPU, memory, storage, DirectX and operating-system requirements for the listed PC tiers | No comparable PC-style hardware target is given on the cited product page |
| What resolution or frame rate can be promised? | The developer lists tier targets of 1080p/30 FPS, 1440p/60 FPS, 1080p/60 FPS with ray tracing recommended, and 2160p/60 FPS with path tracing recommended; all targets specify upscaling | Not stated in the cited PS5 listing |
| Which version has better image quality, speed or stability? | Not established before launch | Not established before launch |
| What price and editions are listed? | Steam lists US Standard at $59.99 and Deluxe at $69.99 at the time checked | PlayStation US lists Standard at $59.99 and Digital Deluxe at $69.99 at the time checked |
The performance row is intentionally unresolved: a set of PC requirements is not a console benchmark, and the PS5 feature list is not a measured comparison. A later technical analysis would need to identify its test hardware or mode, resolution, settings and game version before its results could answer the platform question fairly.
There is also no basis yet for treating PC as the more customizable or controller-flexible version in practice, or for assuming the PS5 version lacks options listed for PC. The documents covered here describe PC hardware targets and PS5 product features; they do not provide a complete cross-platform feature matrix. A fair post-launch comparison should verify actual input support and settings on both versions rather than fill in the gaps by assumption.
Price, editions and preorder items
The official US PlayStation page lists the Standard Edition at $59.99 and Digital Deluxe Edition at $69.99. Steam showed the same listed prices when checked on October 13, 2026. Those are storefront listings for the cited US context, not guaranteed prices for other countries or a promise that a price will remain unchanged. Check the live store page for your region before buying. The PlayStation page and Steam’s listing give the edition details and current storefront information.
The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the full game, Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form appearances, a digital artbook and a digital soundtrack. The preorder early-unlock items are the Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy appearance; PlayStation and Steam state that these items can also be earned through in-game progression. That means the listed preorder benefit is early access to those items, not exclusive ownership of items unavailable through play.
The price gap in the cited US storefront listings is $10: $59.99 for Standard and $69.99 for Deluxe. That comparison is only a snapshot of those listings, not a promise about other currencies, taxes, discounts or future store prices. The Deluxe extras named by PlayStation are cosmetic appearances plus a digital artbook and soundtrack; the listing does not describe a separate gameplay campaign or additional platform performance benefit. If those digital extras matter to you, compare the exact live edition description on your store before checkout.
What kind of game to expect
PlayStation describes Phantom Blade Zero as a dark wuxia action RPG powered by Unreal Engine 5. The central character, Soul, is framed for murdering his master and has sixty-six days left to live while pursuing a conspiracy in the Wulin. The official descriptions combine martial arts, fantasy, folk horror, traditional Chinese aesthetics, mechanical prosthetics and punk-fantasy elements under the label “kungfupunk.” This is useful context for what the platforms are offering, but it does not predict comparative graphics quality or how the final game performs.

Liang also described weapon reforging as a way to return upgrade materials. These are developer descriptions of systems; they do not establish total playtime, how often each system appears, or the final balance of the game. The details are in the August gameplay deep dive.

The scale of the weapon list gives prospective players a clearer sense of the combat systems S-GAME has discussed, but it is not a confirmed count of everything that will be available at launch. More than 30 main weapons and 25 Phantom Edges are developer-reported counts; the post also names upgrades, accessories, summons and reforging. It does not quantify how long it takes to acquire them, how many can be equipped at once, or whether the same progression systems work differently by difficulty.
Developer-described difficulty options
- Wayfarer: Described as story-focused.
- Hellwalker: Described as a greater challenge, with more advanced or adaptive enemy intelligence.
- Sixty-Six Days: Described as a demanding option.
These labels and descriptions come from the developer; they are not independent assessments of how difficult each mode feels or how the options affect the full campaign. Liang said the range is intended to let new players and experienced action-game players tailor the experience, but the published description is not a substitute for play-tested balance information.
Liang’s August 17 post describes Hellwalker as using more advanced or adaptive enemy intelligence, while Wayfarer is story-focused and Sixty-Six Days is demanding. Those descriptions offer a useful preview of the intended differences, but they do not answer practical questions such as whether difficulty can be changed mid-game or how each option affects rewards. Treat the names as developer guidance until the shipped game can be assessed.
Another detail from Liang’s August 11 post is that actor and martial artist Donnie Yen has been a creative consultant since 2023 and performs Mó Yuan, Soul’s father, through facial and motion capture. The official post connects that involvement to the game’s character and performance work; it is not a platform-specific feature and says nothing about PC-versus-PS5 fidelity. Liang said the standalone gameplay deep dive was meant to reveal gameplay systems, combat and the Phantom World.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which platform should you choose?
Choose PC if your existing system fits the published target
PC is the straightforward option to assess if you already own a compatible Windows machine. Compare your exact CPU and GPU to S-GAME’s list, check the shared 16 GB, SSD and DirectX 12 requirements, and remember that the published resolution and frame-rate targets rely on upscaling. If your hardware is below the listed minimum or absent from the examples, the available requirements do not establish how well it will run.
If you are shopping for a PC or considering a GPU upgrade, the RTX 3060 Ti 8GB is a useful named example because S-GAME places it in the recommended tier alongside the RX 6700 XT 12GB. It is not a required purchase, and the tier is not an independent ranking of every available graphics card. Check your full system, including CPU, memory, operating system and SSD, rather than treating a single graphics card as sufficient proof of compatibility.
Choose PS5 if its documented features suit your setup
PS5 is the option with explicitly listed DualSense effects, the described Tempest 3D audio paths and the product-page features for subtitles, controls, difficulty, manual saving and offline pausing. Those details may help you decide whether the console version fits your preferences. They do not establish that PS5 has a performance advantage, and the page does not document the PC version’s corresponding feature set.
If you value those listed features, the PS5 product page is a concrete place to start: it names controller feedback, 3D audio routes, advanced subtitles, volume controls, reminders, manual saving and offline pausing. The page’s wording matters, though. Difficulty is described as basic adjustable difficulty, and the pause feature is specifically for offline play. Those entries are not a complete account of all settings or of how the game behaves in every situation.

Wait for post-launch analysis if performance is the deciding factor
If your choice hinges on frame rate, resolution, image quality, loading or stability, the responsible answer is to wait for platform-specific testing. Useful testing should identify the game version and patch, the PC hardware or console mode, the resolution and graphics settings, and whether upscaling is active. Without those details, a headline comparison can obscure unlike configurations rather than show which platform is preferable.
For PC, a useful review should name the processor and graphics card, settings, resolution, upscaling mode and game patch. For PS5, it should state the tested display mode or graphics option if the game provides one, and give comparable measurements. The PC requirements alone cannot tell you which console mode, if any, corresponds to a particular PC target. Until such measurements exist, claims that one platform has better performance are speculation.
What to check in a later PC-versus-PS5 comparison
- PC hardware fit: Compare the tested PC to the developer’s exact minimum or recommended components; do not treat the listed upscaled target as a native-resolution guarantee.
- Measured visuals and performance: Look for a post-launch test that names its hardware, settings, patch, resolution and frame-rate mode.
- Input and immersion: Confirm the tested controller support and actual haptic or trigger behavior on each platform rather than inferring that one version lacks a feature.
- Accessibility and play habits: Verify how the listed subtitle, difficulty, manual-save and pause features work in the shipping game, including the offline-only pause qualification.
- Local price and edition contents: Compare live regional storefronts, since the cited prices are current listings rather than fixed worldwide prices.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the PC requirements for Phantom Blade Zero?
S-GAME’s August 12, 2026 list sets minimum at an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1660 6GB or RX 5500 XT 8GB, 16 GB memory, SSD, DirectX 12 and 64-bit Windows 10/11. Its recommended tier names an i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X, RTX 3060 Ti 8GB or RX 6700 XT 12GB, with the same memory and system requirements. Both stated targets use upscaling.
Is an RTX 3060 Ti enough for Phantom Blade Zero?
The 8GB RTX 3060 Ti is one of S-GAME’s recommended graphics cards, paired with a target of 1440p at 60 FPS with upscaling enabled. That is a developer target, not an independent benchmark or guarantee for every setting. The PC requirements also include CPU, memory, SSD, DirectX 12 and Windows requirements.
Does Phantom Blade Zero run better on PC or PS5?
There is no reliable performance comparison before launch. The published PC requirements do not benchmark the console, and PlayStation’s PS5 feature listing does not report frame rate, resolution, loading speed or stability. Wait for testing that identifies the game version, settings, hardware or console mode, resolution and upscaling.
What PS5 features are listed for Phantom Blade Zero?
PlayStation lists DualSense vibration and trigger effects, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and Tempest 3D AudioTech. It also lists volume controls, advanced subtitles, basic adjustable difficulty, control and tutorial reminders, manual saving, and pausing during offline play. Its 3D-audio description includes built-in TV speakers or analogue/USB stereo headphones after setup.
What is the Phantom Blade Zero release date?
Official listings show October 29, 2026 on S-GAME’s site and in a PlayStation Blog post, while Steam lists October 28. The PlayStation deep dive also says October 28 in the US and select regions. These are storefront or regional dates; check the listing for your country and platform.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsHow much do Phantom Blade Zero editions cost, and what is in Deluxe?
The US PlayStation listing shows Standard at $59.99 and Digital Deluxe at $69.99; Steam showed the same listed prices when checked October 13, 2026. Deluxe includes the full game, Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form appearances, a digital artbook and digital soundtrack. Prices can vary by region or change, so verify the live local store listing.
Are Phantom Blade Zero preorder items exclusive?
The Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy appearance are listed as preorder early-unlock items. PlayStation and Steam say they can also be earned through in-game progression, so the stated benefit is early access rather than exclusive ownership.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Phantom Blade Zero is listed for PC and PS5, but no measured evidence yet establishes which version performs or looks better. Check your PC against S-GAME’s upscaled requirements if you are considering Windows; choose PS5 based on its documented DualSense, audio and play features if those suit your setup. For frame rate, image quality, loading or stability, wait for post-launch testing that compares like-for-like settings and versions.
