Peacock can still be worthwhile, but it is no longer an easy pick simply because it is cheap. After Peacock’s August 18, 2026 price increase, direct-billed plans cost $8.99 to $19.99 per month. The lower-priced Select tier leaves out movies, sports, and Peacock Originals; Premium is the entry point for those, while Premium Plus reduces ads and adds select downloads. The right choice depends on whether Peacock carries the NBC, Bravo, movie, original, or live-sports programming you actually want.
What does Peacock cost in 2026?
Peacock / NBCUniversal lists these direct-billed prices as effective August 18, 2026. Annual plans are paid at once; the table shows their equivalent monthly cost for comparison, calculated by dividing the annual price by 12.

| Premium | $12.99 per month | $129.99 per year (about $10.83 per month) | TV, movies, sports and events, and Peacock Originals, with ads |
| Premium Plus | $19.99 per month | $199.99 per year (about $16.67 per month) | Premium content, select downloads, and an ad-reduced experience with exceptions |
Source for plan prices and billing terms: Peacock’s pricing help page. The monthly equivalents are arithmetic based on the listed annual prices, not separate monthly subscription rates. At current prices, the annual plans cost less than paying month by month for 12 months, but require paying the annual amount upfront. Existing annual subscribers and people on promotional offers keep their current prices until the plan or offer expires; the new rate may appear at a later renewal.

Choose Select only if TV is enough
Select is the least expensive way to watch eligible TV programming from NBC, Bravo, and other providers. It does not include sports, movies, or Peacock Originals. If those are the main reasons you are considering Peacock, Select will not meet the need.

Choose Premium for the core Peacock catalog
Premium adds movies, sports and events, and Peacock Originals to TV programming. It is the practical starting tier for viewers who want Peacock’s broader entertainment offering, but it includes ads. Peacock describes Premium as including full seasons of TV, current NBC and Bravo hits, live sports, 24/7 Peacock Channels, daily live news, and late night. Those are service descriptions, not a guarantee that a particular title or event will remain available; check the app or service listings for what you want to watch. Peacock’s plan comparison and service overview describe the inclusions.
Choose Premium Plus only if its trade-offs fit
Premium Plus includes Premium categories, select mobile downloads, and an experience Peacock describes as without ads subject to exceptions. Ads remain in channels, live sports and events, and some shows and movies. Downloads are limited to eligible titles and mobile devices, so this is not a blanket ad-free or offline-access guarantee. It costs $7 more per month than Premium at the listed monthly rates.

Is Peacock worth it after the price increase?
Peacock’s value is strongest when you can name specific programming you plan to watch: NBC or Bravo shows, Universal movies, Peacock Originals, or live events carried by the service. It is less compelling as a general-purpose streaming subscription if you want a broad catalog across many studios, dislike ads, or expect the cheapest plan to include everything.

- The Google TV Streamer (4K) delivers your favorite entertainment quickly, easily, and personalized to you[1,2]
- HDMI 2.1 cable required (sold separately)
- See movies and TV shows from all your services right from your home screen[2]; and find new things to watch with tailored recommendations for everyone in your home based on their interests and viewing habits
- Watch live TV and access over 800 free channels from Pluto TV, Tubi, and more[3]; if you find an interesting show or movie on your TV, mobile app, or Google search, you can easily add it to your watchlist, so it’s ready when you are[2]
- Up to 4K HDR with Dolby Vision delivers captivating, true-to-life detail[4]; and you can connect speakers that support Dolby Atmos for more immersive 3D sound
A useful way to judge the cost is to compare the tier you actually need, not the lowest advertised rate. Select’s price is not a meaningful saving if you would subscribe for movies, originals, or sports and then have to upgrade. Premium is the central-content tier, while Premium Plus makes sense only if its reduced-ad experience and limited mobile downloads justify the additional charge to you.
How strong are Peacock’s library and features?
Peacock combines television, movies, originals, live programming, channels, and news. That mix can be useful if it aligns with your tastes, but it is not evidence of a universally deep catalog. The service’s own overview describes hundreds of movies and full seasons of TV, alongside Peacock Originals and live offerings; availability of individual titles can change.
