pCloud lifetime replaces recurring billing with one upfront payment; monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically. Lifetime can cost less if you keep the account long enough, but the better choice depends on your expected years of use, storage and sharing needs, and how much flexibility you want. pCloud defines “lifetime” as 99 years or the account holder’s lifetime, whichever is shorter.
What pCloud’s plans include
For individual accounts, pCloud lists three storage tiers. The Help Center’s plan-details table gives each tier’s monthly shared-link traffic allowance:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
| Individual tier | Storage | Monthly shared-link traffic |
|---|---|---|
| Premium | 500 GB | 1 TB |
| Premium Plus | 2 TB | 4 TB |
| Ultra | 10 TB | 20 TB |
These traffic figures are the allowances listed in pCloud’s plan details. Consider both storage capacity and traffic: files that fit within your space can still be affected by how much others download through shared links. Features and plan details can change, so check the current plan information when choosing.
How lifetime and subscription billing differ
Lifetime
A lifetime plan is paid for once rather than renewed monthly or annually. pCloud Help Center describes the term as “99 years or the lifetime of the account holder, whichever is shorter.” That makes it a long-term license under pCloud’s definition, not a promise that service lasts indefinitely in every circumstance.

Monthly and annual subscriptions
Monthly subscriptions bill each month; annual subscriptions bill each year. pCloud says annual billing saves 20% compared with monthly billing. Both subscription types renew automatically unless you cancel future renewal.

How to compare the total cost
Compare the one-time lifetime price with subscription payments over the number of years you realistically expect to use the account. Use the live prices for your region; don’t assume lifetime is automatically the cheaper option.
- Choose the storage tier that meets your needs, and account for shared-link traffic if you regularly share files.
- Record the lifetime price and the monthly or annual subscription price shown for that same tier at checkout.
- Multiply the subscription price by the number of billing periods in your expected use period. For annual billing, count years; for monthly billing, count months.
- Compare that projected subscription total with the one-time lifetime payment. If you may change tiers or stop using the service sooner, include that uncertainty in your decision.
This is a break-even comparison, not a guarantee of future savings: it depends on current prices, how long you keep the plan, and whether your storage needs change.

Cancellation, refunds, and the flexibility trade-off
According to pCloud’s billing and payment help, cancelling a monthly or annual subscription stops the next renewal, while access continues through the paid period. Cancellation is not itself an official refund request.
pCloud’s pricing page advertises a 14-day money-back guarantee. That statement does not establish that every purchase channel or circumstance qualifies. Check the current terms and, if you bought through a platform, follow its refund process. A subscription gives you a recurring decision point; a lifetime purchase avoids renewals but commits more money upfront.

When the Family plan may fit better
pCloud’s Family plan is a separate lifetime-only option starting at 2 TB. It supports up to five accounts—an owner and up to four members—with private space for each member. The owner manages membership and storage quotas. Compare it with individual plans based on the household’s combined storage needs and how you want to divide space; it is not simply an individual tier with more storage.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWhich option should you choose?
- Consider lifetime if you expect to use the same tier for years, can pay upfront, and value avoiding recurring renewals.
- Consider a subscription if you want a smaller initial commitment, may change providers or storage tiers, or prefer to reassess the expense at each renewal.
- Consider Family if several people need separate accounts and private storage under one owner-managed plan.
Before paying, verify the tier, billing period, currency, promotional price, renewal terms, and final checkout amount on pCloud’s current pages.
