ManageEngine’s reviewed getting-started guide describes those functions at a high level but does not enumerate the individual actions, so administrators should check the documentation for their installed version before relying on a specific tool being available.
What Patch Connect Plus Admin Tools are for
Patch Connect Plus is an add-on that publishes third-party applications and patches for use through SCCM. Administrators initiate deployments through the SCCM console. Within that workflow, the vendor describes Admin Tools as a console tab for carrying out client actions on demand, troubleshooting, and system management—not as a published list of individually named utilities.

That distinction matters when evaluating the feature: the broad categories are documented, but the reviewed guide does not establish which particular client commands or system operations appear in every version. Check the current product documentation and your console before building a runbook around a named action.

Which administrative work the product supports
Admin Tools is one part of a wider set of Patch Connect Plus functions. ManageEngine’s feature page describes these adjacent capabilities:
#1 Best Overall
| Administrative need | Documented capability | Practical boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Run client-side administration or investigate a problem | The Admin Tools tab is described as supporting on-demand client actions, troubleshooting sessions, and system management operations. | The reviewed setup guide does not list the specific actions; confirm the available set in your installed version. |
| Publish third-party updates | Automated deployment of third-party patches with SCCM. | Publication is part of the workflow; deployment is initiated through the SCCM console. |
| Manage application deployment | Create applications for SCCM and manage third-party apps for Intune/MEM. | These are adjacent application-management functions, not a detailed inventory of Admin Tools actions. |
| Respond to vulnerability information | Import CVE IDs and publish corresponding patches. | This does not establish that a supported patch exists for every CVE. |
| Discover newly added applications | Automatically detect newly added applications and publish them to SCCM. | Review what is detected and published in the context of your update process. |
| Tailor deployments | Use pre- and post-deployment scripts and deployment templates. | Scripts and templates require environment-specific review before use. |
| Review rollout results | Deployment reports for Intune and SCCM client machines. | The reviewed feature description does not specify particular report fields. |
| Use update catalogs | Catalog CAB files for SCCM 1806 and above. | Verify compatibility against current product documentation before implementation. |
ManageEngine’s store page states that the product supports patches for over 800 third-party applications. The page does not date that count, so treat it as the vendor’s stated catalog coverage rather than an independently verified or current catalog total.
How to decide whether Admin Tools fits your workflow
- For an on-demand client task: Confirm that the action you need exists in the version you run, then check the applicable permissions and operational safeguards in your organization.
- For third-party patching: Assess the publishing and SCCM deployment workflow separately from the Admin Tools tab. They address related administration but are distinct capabilities.
- For Intune/MEM work: The feature page describes third-party application management and deployment reporting for Intune/MEM. Do not assume that an SCCM console tab or SCCM-specific action applies identically to Intune.
- For tailored deployment behavior: Treat scripts and templates as change-controlled configuration. Validate their effects in a suitable test process before broad deployment.
- For vulnerability-led updates: CVE import can help identify and publish corresponding patches where supported; it is not evidence of universal coverage for all vulnerabilities.
Setup dependencies to verify before rollout
ManageEngine’s getting-started guide describes a 64-bit installation machine, a WSUS server or compatible WSUS Administration Console, and a system account that belongs to the WSUS Administrators group. It calls installation on the primary WSUS machine preferred but optional. The guide also covers WSUS, certificate, SCCM, scheduler, mail, and site database settings. These details can change by product version, so verify the current prerequisites for your release rather than treating this list as evergreen installation instructions.

- Compact and Portable: Measures approximately 5.5 x 8.3 inches, offering a balanced writing area while remaining light and easy to carry. Fits well in backpacks, handbags, or laptop sleeves, making it convenient for everyday use whether at home, classroom, or on the go.
- Sturdy Outer Covers: Features hard front and back covers that help protect the inner pages from bending or wear. The firm surface also makes it easier to write when a desk isn’t available, supporting quick notes or sketches anytime.
- Gift-Friendly Option: A practical and thoughtful item for learners, professionals, or anyone who enjoys writing. Makes a suitable addition to study supplies, office materials, or care packages for coworkers, or friends.
- Adaptable for Daily Use: Useful for a range of purposes, from organizing schedules and writing class notes to keeping journals or tracking personal goals.
- Flexible Spiral Binding: The twin-loop spiral lets the notebook open fully and fold back without damaging the spine. This design allows comfortable writing on both sides of each page and provides a flat surface for more stable use.
The same guide says third-party or self-signed certificates must be imported into the Trusted Publishers and Root Certificate Authority stores on managed computers so updates can be authenticated. Confirm the current deployment guidance and your organization’s certificate policy before changing certificate stores.
